M15A4 Stopped Shooting

I was shooting my new-ish M15A4 in semi auto and it was working great, then i switched to auto and it made a funny noise, and now it wont shoot. When i pull the trigger in full or semi auto, i can feel the motor trying to spin then stopping in the handle after about a half a second. Any suggestions?

did the motor drop in the grip or whatever its called. i can't remember the exact name for it, but when i played airsoft a while back, one guys gun (i think scooby's of team blackbear) kept having the motor dropping in the grip or something like that.

I dont know how to check for that. I got the gun on ebay, and there is no external wear at all. Its in perfect condition externally so i dont know what could be the problem. Ill look into the inside when i get back in about an hour or 2. Thank you

You're going to have to provide more info.

- Describe said "funny noise" (metal grinding, etc).

- Gun stop right or soon after the "funny noise" occured.

Sounds like there's nothing wrong with your battery or electrical as you say you pull the trigger and the motor tries to turn unless your battery is low or faulty. But sounds like something in our mechbox has locked up and you shouldn't be trying to fire it and risk further damage. Take it too a gundoc would be your best option.

Sounds like it could either be...

A) Stripped Gears (in the mechbox)
B) A broken Tappet Plate
C) A stripped pinnion gear on the motor or un-seated motor.

and before greylocks get's ahold of you fill out your profile so that people in your area might be able to help or find you a gun doc to diagnose the issue.
Also what make is it? Tm, JG etc etc

I would suspect a dead battery....

Recharge it(full charge), and try it again

Open up the upper and let us know where the piston is at. i.e forward, middle, or back of the mechbox.

There an adjustment screw for the motor at the bottom of the grip. Try to tighten or loosen it

Keep in mind this is Airsoft CANADA, so we don't really know anything in the USA.

When i opened it, you couldnt see the spring in the smaller opening towards the back of the gear box, only the plastic guide. I dont exactly know what that means as far as where the piston is at.

So the opening in the rear of the mechbox you see a nice round plastic object that the spring goes into with 2 grooves on either side of the piston?

Looks like its locked up and hard.. best off to get it to a doc. This happend with a G36C and we still dunno what the issue is
