Boyi K98 RELEASED

Maybe I should start exporting these guns... seem to be available for me a lot faster than they appear in Hong Kong.

I don't know the type of metal used.

And unless someone gives me $80, there's no review.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Price is the same as the Boyi AK74 with PLASTIC hand guards.

- All metal
- Plastic furniture (small mold lines, quality wood imitation)
- M100 spring
- V shape hop-up
- Metal Ejecting cartridges

1120mm
2626g

Very nice looking piece. But are they stuck with having only the cartridge feed? If yes, that's a pain in the ass.

Seems so.

Probably won't have any stripper clip capability either.

It's odd that they would go for realism with individual cartridges, but only offer a plastic stock.

Hopefully they will come out with a wood stock version, like they have with their AK74 line. But I'm doubting it due to the size of wood required. It wouldn't be very cost effective.

As I recall, airsoft is UBER sketchy in the mainland. You don't want to mess around. On that note, I'll be in Shanghai in 3 days. Are you in Pudong or Puxi?

He's may actually be correct in part with that statement, although he probably doesn't know it.

The legal aspect of airsoft in China is really gray. It's actually very similar to Canadian law in the respect that it is acceptable to own and export (in some places) but very illegal to import. It is definitely legal to manufacture for export, but the question is whether it is legal to own on the mainland.

It is not clear whether it is legal or not, as I've been told both stories, but I do know that it varies largely upon the area you live in. Right now, living in Shanghai, I would be very worried to bring the guns into the city to export, but if I was living in Shenzhen or Guangzhou, everything is different and you can purchase the airsoft guns of CT quality for $0.75 and a HFC M190 Auto for $35.

It makes guns like Classic Army and Tokyo Marui hard to find, as they have to be smuggled. Strangely, HFC is said to be from Taiwan, but there is an abundance of very cheap HFC airsoft pistols here, so I would doubt that they are manufactured in Taiwan.

South Pudong.

Want to have coffee sometime?

How long are you here?

It is illegal to export either unless you are licensed to export airsoft guns or you have a friend in customs. Most of the airsoft guns/parts are made in Guangdong.

Aware of the Guangdong situation... wasn't aware of the customs situation.

Any idea how often they check the outgoing mail?

If it's as or more lax as their X-Ray scans at railways and border crossings, then there probably wouldn't be much to worry about.

Except none of this matters because they won't make it into Canada. Unless they go through Mark or Ken, or someone else that's licensed.

But this really isn't what the thread is about at all... it's just a small comment I made that was unrelated to the topic at hand.

I wasn't specifically referring to sending them to Canada.
