STAR FN SCAR Deluxe Version black/tan

The finish is quite simply sublime, hold it in your hands and you can feel the heft and how solid this gun is. It's the little things that count too, the battery is stored in the stock yet there are no unsightly wires or sockets seen when you unfold the stock. It has the FN Herstal trademarks and everything about this gun looks authentic, from the colour down to the feel of the metal body, which happens to be CNC-machined.

It comes fitted with a grenade launcher the trigger of which lies beneath the standard trigger, ease it back and the action is a thoroughly reassuring one. It takes 40mm shells and it has the feature of catering for both right and left-handers, when you eject the launcher for loading, it can swing to the left or right for easy loading.

This SCAR benefits from being quick to disassemble as well as quick to re-assemble, it takes about 30 seconds for each process. The outer barrel is also a swift process, taking a mere 5 seconds to do so. The QDB and ELDB system have a quick change process also. The stock is a 6 step extendable with a adjustable cheek piece also (51-68mm) and feels incredibly solid being made of a Nylon Fiber. All the parts are made from the best materials, with Aluminum and Steel used in the correct parts. It's a great AEG, if you're on the market for a SCAR AEG, then you could do a lot worse than this number.

EDIT: Jesus christ, it's 720 US!

I wanna know the quality of the mechbox and such. Caaaas from what I remember about the old star stuff you have to do some fixing and tunin before it would be working good. Then again that can be said for most guns

It's been claimed that the SCAR is currently in service within SOCOM.

Its been discussed, as well as PTW L85, PTW G36, PTW AK, PTW M249, PTW M60, PTW Sig, PTW P90, PTW UMP, etc. etc.

In reality a PTW SCAR could probably be done, just need to get a custom upper (the real steel one is polymer anyway so could use the same) and dimension it right to fit the cylinder and barrel/hopup. Then just make some sort of custom mount to get the stock from a SCAR mounted on it. Would require some custom machining (mostly machining polymer so it'll go quick, or could use Delrin) but wouldn't be the hardest custom job I've seen airsofters do.

I still think the stock is fugly, and that grenade launcher looks like ass in my opinion. Then again I used to hate the FAMAS and now I kinda like how it looks, I don't hate the stock nearly as much as I used to so maybe the entire thing will grow on me. As for STAR quality I've had a couple of their products and the only problem I know of is fried motors though I never ran into that myself.

I did think that it was a neat ideal that in the original SCAR-H concepts was able to take AK-47 mags without any modification though as far as I know they scrapped that.

By the looks of it, it seems that the inner barrel is directly mounted inside the outer barrel which if it is, would be awesome feature for quick change set up from CQB to full lenght withing seconds. Gearbox seems pretty easy to change aswell.

Not too expensive neither 720usd considering that there's a nade launcher included.

The only SCAR I'd want would be the H variant however I promised my girlfriend I wouldn't buy any other airsoft gun up until after July. Got 12 already and she thinks it's enough for now...
