I like. Not as... riced out as some of the 5.1's seen on the forum, but more tactiCOOL and functional.
Are you going to be swapping out the lower frame for a metal one?

There are no metal grip frames in existence, not even for real steel, afaik.
Hi-Capas are based on the three-piece 2011 / double-stack design, which is considerably different from the two-piece 1911 / single-stack design (excluding grip panels). ... unless you're referring to the mid-frame, in which case, it's already metal.

Thats pretty much the same internal setup my Hi-Capa was running....I have that PGC slide too but I switched to a SD OPSMRP slide as the PGC one was wornout since I acquired the gun, and I am using the SAS kit to mount a silencer to hide the 7" inner barreel that I have now...
How do you like the guarder guide rod? It works so so with the Stock bushing (sticky-ish), and with my SD bushing it gets really bad, I switched back to the original silver guiderod because of it... I don't have the hammer spring upgrades though and they are next...then it'll be a SD bushing kit and a custom made straight barrel with internally threaded end to fit the silencer adapter for the SAS kit...then I'll get a freedom art frame to eliminate the SAS kit... as it is now... Joe, I wonder if it's the Guarder spring guide rod that's causing the slide to not return to battery properly. Try putting the Marui guide rod back in and see if it's able to slide all the way back forward.

Yeah i notice its a bit sticky. When i changed it back to the stock guide rock it feels a lot smoother. Illusion, it still doesn't slide all the way back forward. The slide is sitting about roughly 1/4 inch back than usual, so I can't engage the safety

I know from my PGC slide with the SD barrel they don't fit as well as they could be, might just be because the tolerance is different slightly between the 2.

Yeah we were thinking its probably the slide, however, I don't have another one to test it with. Not sure where my stock one is either.

You could try switching to the stock slide, but it may get chewed up by the chamber. |
