M14 Hopup.

Hey.. My M14 isn't getting the range that it used to, so I tried changing the hopup rubber..

I noticed it was about a CM too Long.. so I cut it down to size..

do M14 hopups use special rubbers? If So.. Where do I get them? ... And anyone know of any company that makes an upgraded TM M14 hopup chamber?

Why did you cut it? As far as I'm concerned, I've never seen a special Hop Rubber just for the M14.

There are many reasons you lose range:
1: Lower FPS due to storing the gun with the spring compressed
2: Lost the Hop up Bucking
3: Air Leak(Unlikely)

M-14 dose use a shorter hop rubber, when I changed mine a cut it same as you, you will notice the difference in the barrel locating cuts as well when compared to a normal AEG, cutting dose absolutely nothing to the performance of the hop rubber.

Gun shoots 410 in Semi only... So spring compression isn't the problem.

I've got the hopup bucking.. I checked, I even put a new hopup + bucking in.

My hopup my be scratched inside... Could that be a problem?

Okay.. Maybe I'm just using a shitty rubber then...

Anyone have experience with those RH64 ones? I heared they were supposed to be quite good..

Are you referring to the KM / Head 1950 ones?

They're good, but not particularly suited for an M14 due to the shortened rubber space in the M14 hop up. At least you'd be wasting the stabilizer and tool it comes with.

You might as well just pay a bit less for a tried-and-true Systema hop up rubber or a Prometheus rubber.
