Deans Connectors

I've searched the forums and came up with nothing. To charge a battery with deans connectors would I need to switch the end on my battery charger? I no little to nothing about deans, so any help is appreciated. :smack:

making an adaptor is probably easier. That way you arent limited to charging deans only.

Ya, just make an adaptor, that way you can still charge regular batteries. Always good to have a couple adaptors for your charger, large Tamiya to small, large to Deans, etc.

I just took the ends out of my original adapter and pulled the plastic housing off. Then I place the ends in their respected holes. The funny thing is this works for almost all battery connections. Mini, large, deans, what ever it doesn't matter because all you really need is a connection.

All you really need is a reliable connection that works every time guaranteed, leaves no risk of connection in reverse polarity or excessive heating on the connections due to a poor contact.

Make an adapter. The parts can be had for very cheap at a hobby shop. Guys who won't spend $7 and 5 minutes to make the proper connections deserve to have to buy a $70 battery or a $100 charger. Seriously!!!

yes if your charger has a tamiya connector it will need to be changed to deans or atleast have an adapter.
for my rc cars i use a duratrax piranha charger that you can take off the connector wires and so i have a connector to charge tamiya packs and one to charge deans pack, though all my packs are now deans. if you're just going to charge your packs and never bring your charger to the field, might as well just change it over to deans since your packs are all deans. though if you don't want to just make an adapter. if you don't feel safe doing it yourself you can get a hobbyshop to do it probably. the longest part of the process is just letting the soldering iron warm up and most hobbyshops do work for customers anyways

Deans makes a product called "pigtails" it has solid wires and a m or f deans connector. you can find them in RC hobby shops and they are ~$5usd. My previous suggestion is a quick fix.

Ive been just using stripped wires for an adaptor now for 4 years on the same battery with no problems. Theres no way I could ever count how many times Ive charged that NIMH battery. Works on every battery regardless if its a mini, large or Deans or whatever.
