AK47, is it any good?
Hello! I'm new here so I hope I dont sound stupid, seeing that most of you have amazing guns and are like in teams. At SIR in Winnipeg I ordered a Kraken (spelling?) Ak 47. The guy at the store said its a good gun, it has like 400+ FPS. I'm still pretty new to airsoft and the only other gun I have is the RIS M16 (I think its called that). So I'm just wonding if any of you guys have experience with the AK, please tell me if its any good. Thanks!

Click the Search button, type in kraken, click "Go" and read away.
I'll also give you this: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...ghlight=kraken |

I have the Kraken but I have the black version not the clear one. I'm convinced that I got one of the duds becuase I'm barely pulling 300FPS compared to the average 350FPS+ others reported. Its still a nice gun though. The good thing is you can easily rewire it to take a full sized battery.

The one at the store is diffrent then that one I'm pretty sure it has a wood handle and butt without any clear parts, it's all metal (except from the wood of course). The guy said it had 400 FPS as well.
EDIT: I'll probably post a pic when I get it. |

Most of those brand AEG's are velocity tested with .12's, I've got the M4 made by the same company as the AK and the box says 370fps, but only with .12's, with the .2's is 302fps.

The 0.12g BBs are ineffective at any real range due to their light weight. They're primarily used by cheap guns that cannot throw more effective but heavier BBs, and by retailers that wants to hide the actual fps of low-powered guns.

Haha, I have .12's. In a instruction manual that came with a gun my brother bought it has .12's but they 'increase you're FPS by %5'. Do you guys think this is true?

I have one of these Krakens but it came with clear plastic reviever and green plastic furniture. I got a metal body for it and I am in the process of upgrading it with a better spring. I also have a wood kit in the mail.
Kraken =$200 Metal body= $165 shipped Wood= $62 Shipped Upgrades= >$100 Total= $525 Stock TM AK47 made with all plastic = $599 See my point? |
