BB Brand

Hey to everyone,

me being new to airtsoft and an avid paintballer knows that not all paintballs are created equal.

1. my first question is, for a standard AEG, what brand of .20g BB do you recommed?

2. for a CA M24 sniper rifle, what brand and weight of BBs do you recommend?

3. for a Tanaka M700 sniper rifle, what brand and weight of BBs do you recommend?

1. You're in Ontario, BB Bastard is our bread and butter for the most part. For most outdoor applications, 0.25g is the preferred weight.

thank you. yes i understand that i should not start off with a sniper. however, i dont plan to. all i wanted to know is with regards to the BBs, so that when i DO plan no getting a sniper, i will know which BBs to buy.

If you like the BB .25's, try the .28's - improved range, better bush penetration, less crosswind influence - its all I use now for outdoor...

Agreed, I think 0.28s will largely replace 0.25s soon, once the word gets out. I'm just waiting until my 0.25s are all gone, then I'm switching to 0.28s for everything thereafter.

I used to use TM BBs exclusively, but I have since switched to 0.28 BB Bastards and they've been great! Although I find it odd that I found 2 deformed BBs in my first package - image below. But to their credit, I haven't found any others in subsequent packages, and TM is not faultless for deformed BBs either - it was just odd.

Does anyone know how pervasive deformed BBs are in general?

Wow, thats a brain BB. I had a report from someone else about one of those. PM me the details on where you bought the bag and I'll give you a deal on your next order. Also, do you still have the BB? I wanted a sample but the one kept it...

Also, it probably would have fired, as the BBs have to pass through a quality control sluice prior to bagging, or it would not have made it into the package. I've reported this to my manufacturer, but so far it seems to be related to only one box, which I've put aside.

It certainly gives one a hint at the extrusion processing being used to produce the BBs. I've been trying to get my hands on one and I've only had the report from one other person and I couldn't get them to give the BB up... lol...

but then why not take it a step further and use .30s? it is only .02g heavier than the .28s.

Because 0.30s are harder to come by.

There is a push going on at airsoftforum for more high quality .30+g BBs to be made by the trusted manufacturers for snipers (TM .30, Maruzen .29g SGM, etc).
