Before I begin, please take a moment to add some additional information to your profile.

Anyways, for your first gun I suppose I would recommend an AEG, so the mp5 would be the pick. The reason for my choice is that often when your in a game, you will be using your Primary more than your seconday, and as someone just getting into airsoft, the best thing to do is to just get out there play and see how you like it and then built your kit after. Thats the short answer atleast.

out of the two, yea... but ive heard nothing but bad shit about the mp5... very high maintenance, so i hope you are ready to coddle your little electric bundle of ABS/metal joy, and be prepared to dish out a few sheckles for repairs and upgrades.

but if you treat it right, the mp5 may prove to be a good gun for you

From my last post, substitute MP5 with "any AEG of your liking"

Yup. AEGs are a safer bet if this is you're just getting into airsoft. The MP5 is flexible enough for you to participate in both Mil-Sim and CQB games, and the TM MP5 series is less expensive than other, larger AEGs. But from my experience, it may not be as satisfying as a larger weapon. I've had quite a bit of experience with the TM MP5s and in stock form they're not very powerful - although more than adequate for experience building as your first AEG.

Good Luck!

Lots of space for mags is always nice too. I think you can fit 3 in a STANAG pouch..

meh, all i know is ive heard lots of bad stuff about mp5s but mostly the "SD" series. but then i suppose an mp5 user would know better than random reviews ive read... dont get me wrong, it certainly is a nice looking gun and probably very efficient, but ill stick to my solidly build ak models or the FAMAS guns
