New To Airsoft Need Help

Hi guys I'm new to this message board and the world of Airsoft. I have two guns right now. Just some cheap ones I picked up about 4 months ago to play around with and have fun with them. I want to get into airsoft with having wars against my friends because they all have airsoft guns and having actual airsoft wars. So I was kind of wondering what some good guns are and what kind of equipment I need. Also if there's any good sites with reasonable prices that would be very nice. One or two more questions. If I was to be a sniper would have a ghillie suit be of any good. Thank you very much.

Hi there!

How old are you?

Have you seen the FAQ section? Seriously, it's a lot of information to digest, but 90% of what you want to know is there.

Where do you play?

Be prepared to drop a load of cash, you need at least 500$ to sit at the airsoft table in Canada. 800$ buys you a complete but basic setup. 1000$+ and things get really interesting.

Sniper for a newbie is a bad choice, it's not like in the movies. Tried it once, sold the rifle after that.

Don't order from american site.

Buy eye protection of decent quality first, a decent battery and charger second, then the gun.

Lurk for a week, read the FAQs, then come back with other questions.

Hey okay I know it would be alot of money but my parents really want to do something because we haven't done anything alot so I thought I'd get into Airsoft. Would it be a wise idea to use gas guns? Also I'm only 15 turning 16 soon. I was planning to have airsoft wars with my friends too start if I couldn't get into actual ones which I'm doubting. my friends have armor and weapons each.

Sorry for the double post but what would be a good site to order or is it on the FAQ board?

I think it's HGI's avatar... was it even "HGI"...? Bah! It's too late, my memory's gone to hell.

http://www.007airsoft.com
http://www.aasurplus.ca/airsoft

These are the only two retailers that are worth dealing with for guns at the moment.

You will realise that there is not much available on the market right now.

Your best bet would be to age verified and purchase from another player. Good deals, pretty much anything imaginable is on there.

Ah crap, didn't see this. Auto-fail. 15 is just too young.

Some teams might allow you to play at 16, but usually only with a parent present. Get in contact with local teams and explore your option, perhaps visit a game with your folks. You will get turned down a lot though, for a variety of good reasons that are not all about "maturity".

Be aware that playing outside of sanctionned airsoft fields in inviting untold amounts of hurt in your life, ranging from loss of property, to a criminal record, to suicide by cop.

Either play at places you can, or don't.

Mmmm. Blue-icide. Great way to teach kids a lesson.

Regan, I know you're going to press on, and get a gun (It's inevitable). Hell, I got a EBB when I was 16. However, please be Careful with it.

That means :

NO SHOW and TELL AT SCHOOL.
NO OUTDOORS AIRSOFT WARS AT THE PARK.
NO FLASHING IN PUBLIC.
NO BEING A JACKASS, AND SHOOTING PARENTS.

Stay safe.

Sorry for all these multiple posts but I was just wondering where I could watch some airsoft games. I live in Saskatchewan and it's pretty small here.

Still risking it. It boils down to this:
- Witnesses: You can't prevent every single person that might step onto your land from doing so. Think about it, if you didn't know about airsoft, what would you think.
- Random cops passing by: It happens. I got surprised by 4 cops when I was in a shower because I called in a domestic dispute next door. Errors happen, so does bad luck.
- Liability: There is no such thing as a complete and legal waiver of your rights in Canada, so if something happens without you being insured, you can loose everything.
- Insurance: No, not home insurance. Paintball insurance. Pure rape, cost wise.

It's generally a bad idea. Get on a regulated field, or don't play and tough it out. Paintball might be a nice alternative.
