Airsoft Trajectory Project - ATP. Range, BB weight, all the info you need

I found this really good site with the detail right down to the bottom about flight range, BB weight differences and all that stuff.

Apparently, heavier BBs travel farther than lighter BBs, and this dude proves it in mass detail.

have a look

That is a brilliant piece of work and I wish I'd had it a few threads ago when I ended up arguing about the merits of heavier BBs and observations about greater travel distance... I was practically called a liar over it!

I thought about this alot when i was a little kid. Using the same force, the heavier bb would go less, but it has more potential distance.

Didn't I back you up on that? I remember PROVING it numerous times with just saying stuff (airsoft sniper background and studying airsoft ballistics the past few years) but also the thread I created "G19 at 90ft" or something like that with pictures showing man sized groupings at 90ft using 0.29g BBs in my mildly upgraded KSC G19 (and just the other day, I found my new KSC MK23 flings 0.28g BBs.......... hehe, Bastard ones............ a good 150ft before the hop up kicks in and moves then to one side or the other). Oh well, I guess the "heavier BBs DO go farther and more accurately" topic is a classic 'asshole/noob/nerd detector'.

Here's the thread from last year:

Bah, hang on.

Ok, back up, I guess it was some "update save", all the links were listed as "album21" instead of Stalker since I uploaded them in my gallery.

when you look at the charts, you can see when a bb is to light for the speed its going at, you can see them dipping down for a while befor going over then droping. so this would explain inconsistante shot spreaded far apart because of the bb going to fast for its own wieght.
