A&Ks Cheap M249s

Supposed to be a pretty damned good copy of Classic Army's 249. Full metal, MGB, rumors rate it at about 450 fps. 3 versions available sometime in the fall, comes with a box mag, and best of all, highest price estimates are about $500 USD, compared to Classic Army's 850-1000.

Sorry if there was already a thread about this, I didn't see it...

2 things: $500 US = $1000 Canadian after importation costs and taxes = I'll by a CA one anyway since it's only a couple hundred more, and
2) WTF is an M249 doing shooting at 450fps? Isn't that a little excssive?

They look promising. I'd like to see some reviews a year or so down the road to see what the long term durability is.

That's helpful. Just trying to notify people, man. People do it all the time, but apparently when I do it, it is a total fail. I see.

not so much that its a fail because you try to inform us on a really cool sounding gun...

just seems very unlikely to obtain such a bitchin piece of hardware for 500 and less or 1000 CAD if thats the case especially since i saw similar looking guns on 007 for 2200 or there abouts

Update - RSOV just had this listed at 120 Pounds Sterling (That's $254 CAD). Double that by the time it gets here and that's $500 or so for a full metal M249 with an auto-winding box mag.

I feel bad for the people trying to sell CA M249's now.....

The $254 price point is attractive, though I have two concerns.

1. Knowing our retailers' penchant for outrageous mark-up, our cost will be nowhere near that;

2. The LAST thing we need (at least in our area) is more support gunners on the field. Might as well be playing speedball already with the amount of ammo being casually thrown around.

here in Calgary we have only 2 or 3 players that play the support role regularly and the few others that play support when the time calls for it.

If it's anymore than 550 Canadian, I'll be crying bloody murder. There is fair markup, and then there is abusive markups...
