Airsoft innovation! Causing problems? Or Fixing them?

Okay. Hey everyone.

First off, I'd like to say.. I'm a gas gun owner. I love them, and the realism. I own a Gas Beretta, all Metal, 350 fps out of the box, hop up, the works.

Anyway.. Airsoft is now taking a turn for the better as I see it.

Some sites are not selling gas anymore.. Why you ask?

Simply because it's too expensive to keep on importing gas! Look at it guys! It's domestic propane with added silicone oil! What a waste of money!

So.. Now these sites are selling Propane adapters. The adapters fit on propane cans, (not the tanks) that you would fit onto your portable propane grill. These tanks are about 1/3 BIGGER than regular airsoft Green Gas, AND cheaper. About 4 dollars per can.

Now, I'm not trying to get you to buy into this crap.. But it's a great investment. Just buy a little bottle of silicone oil, lube your gun now and then.. And once you run out of gas - No more wait. Get in your car and go to the HARDWARE store. Yes, they sell propane cans EVERYWHERE.

ANYWAY..

To my question. Now.. Domestic propane does NOT have added silicone oil to lube your gun as you shoot. The lazymans way is not for this method.

So.. One of two things I can do. Buy silicone SPRAY.. Or 100% silicone with added oil.

Now.. 100% Silicone oil is quite hard to find and expensive. The Silicone spray you can find ANYWHERE they sell propane per se.

In the Silicone spray, there's an additive.. Not sure what for.. But it's called "Patroleum Dissolates".

HORRIBLE for plastic applicants. Corrodes and eats away at it.

But.. Here's the thing! I have a metal Beretta. I'm not sure if it has many moving plastic parts or not.. And considering it's not Steel, like most metal would come to mind as.. It's Alluminum.

I was just wondering what people though, and hopefully you'll think about the top section.

Uhm, the propane adaptor was invented by a Canadian, who's an active member on these boards. Old news.

Just go to a hobby store and get RC Shock Oil.

As a employee of Airsoft Innovations, I would first like to thank you for using our propane adaptor. Many people do not realize this, but all you have to do is put a few drops of silicone oil onto the valve of the propane bottle, put our propane adaptor onto the propane bottle, and you're good to go for 8 - 10 refills.

Do NOT use any sort of aerosol spray in your gun. Even if your gun is full metal it still has plastic internals, and the additives will be harmful to your gun's internals. RC shock oil will work, but even the lightest weight shock oil (10wt) can be quite viscous. If you wish to purchase light weight silicone oil (1.5wt) you can do so here:

That happens more than you know. Like lemmings, once one guy starts, everyone jumps over that same cliff.

BTW, there are still alot of guys who don't use propane and likely never will. But there is a use and market for it, and the adapter needed to come from someone, just so happens it was MadMax on ASC.

Personally, I don't and won't use a gas made for combustion in a BBQ in the plastic (ABS mostly) gun that cost me 5 times more than said BBQ I use for camping. But that's just me.

Personally I've been using an aerosol lube on my GBB's for almost 6 years now. I use CRC Aviation Power Lube with Teflon. I've never had a single broken seal and I've never had corroding on any of the plastics.

The longest that I have been using this product on one GBB has been about 4 years. No ill effects to date.

Perhaps other aerosols eat away at the plastics but, this one sure doesn't seem to.

Not all aerosol sprays will eat your guns, apparently. Since the web isn't full of hate for HFC's silicon spray and I've seen TM manuals picturing the use of aerosol.

I think you should take care to see if the spray eats your hop up rubber ( if it is not 100% rubber) anyway i wouldn't take the guess personally.
Just my 2 cents

They are comming out with a syringe that fills the entire bottle with a small amout of oil soon so there is no need for periodic drops, maybye madmax has a eta on that...
