Private Parts G36 Magwell Conversion
Hey all,
I've read the reviews but I haven't seen any long term reports from the field about this unit. I've got a G36 but I'm tired of crappy pouches for the mags. Has any one come across any problems from using this unit? Can anyone confirm or deny problems shooting full auto with this unit? Any other issues...or praises....about this item. Cheers |

I've just gotten one recently, here are my observations.
Pro: - Fits more securely to the G36 than the stock magwell - No feed problems Con: - Mag release is a bit too far forward for my liking - MAG midcaps wiggles a lot - KA VN locaps wiggles a lot - About 8 BBs won't feed because of the long feed path to the hopup unit I've shimmed up the wiggle space with tape, so that's not an issue. Since I don't use realcaps, the 8 BBs inefficiency is not that crucial. Finally, the switch to Armalite mags just completely blows all the cons away. I love the G36 dearly, so much so that I went back to it after (stupidly) selling my first, but the G36 mags are just crap compared to Armalite mags.

Saint - I plan on this conversion on my next '36 and was wondering one thing. Will AR style box mags fit?

As far as I know, the magwell is designed to accept any Armalite style box mags. I've only tried it with KA and MAG, but I've heard of people using STAR, TM and G&P.
I have noticed some feed issue with the KA mag on full auto, it will only feed in bursts. I'm going to lube the mags and hope that'll improve the feeding.

I personnaly have tried alot of different mags.
Here is my review (in french sorry) on our forum: http://www.1st-pathfinders.com/phpbb...php?f=8&t=1356 What I can say after fielding it for the first time last weekend is that some mags have feeding issues (MAG mids) maybe it was because they were new. TM lows work good KA lows work good CA hicap work good Star mag 30rnd work good You loose about 4-5 Bbs when you take your mag out as previously mentionned. I am not 100% sure yet if long term this will be viable so dont sell off your G36 mags just yet!! For now its nice to combine with my armalite mags.

Hey all,
Bought a second gen magwell and some KA mags. I had to dremmel a couple millimetres off the locking hole to allow the magwell to lock, other than that, all is sweet. BTW - I am selling off my G36 low caps, see the classifieds. No turning back baby. |

Quick update.
I've been getting a bunch of miss fires and chopped bb's when shooting full auto and semi auto bursts. The fix for the KA mags is to push them forward and they fire flawlessly. I'm going to fix this with a little felt and it should work wonders. The MAG HK mags I bought don't fire well at all period. Well they fire, but no amount of pushing forward fixes the misfire. cheers |

Lube them and run some BBs through them, fixed my HK and KA mags right up.
It's hilarious how you have the exact same mag combo as me.
