That's odd. That's not the first picture I've seen of an American with what appears to be an ELCAN on his weapon. I've spotted a couple of pictures with M249s and M240Bs that appear to have ELCANs on them.

Not really. The Elcan sight isn't restricted to canadian use. The brits use them, as do the greeks.
