ICS UPPER Mech Box

What parts from any version-2 mech box (piston, cyl, cyl head, piston head, tappet plate, nozzel, spring guide) are compatible with an upper mech box for a M-16 ICS.

Dose anyone know if the ICS upper box parts are interchangeable with guarder or systema V-2 parts??

Thanks

I've successfully fitted both Guarder, Systema and Prometheus v2/Armalite parts in to ICS uppers.

Seconded, I ran all Prometheus parts in my upper for awhile, as well as Guarder Spring guide, and a systema piston after. They are all compatible.

I just installed a guarder full cylinder, guarder piston/head, guarder spring, and guarder spring guide to my friend's ICS M16A3 this weekend. Guarder internals all the way!!

If you plan on going with a 120 or over spring you should think about getting a deepfire titanium piston (cost more but should last a very long time). I was stripping the teeth on guarder pistons after 2000 rounds since they don’t fully mesh with the lower. I also found the stock ICS cylinder gave a better seal then the guarder and hurricane 1’s I tried. I also found that the stock air nozzle worked best-the others would double feed sometimes.

isn't the stock ics nozzle different than the guarder nozzle or marui-aftermarket nozzles?
The stock ICS nozzle works best because of the ics hopup design.

+1!

Yes, the tappet is a standard V2. I have a Guarder in mine as the stock one was rather flimsy and snapped.

both me and my buddy have the guarder piston (blue version, not the newest gray version), it's been holding up pretty nice. 1000 rounds, still looks like new. I'll report back when I hit 3000 rnds

Are the new gray color version guarder piston good though? never tried..

I'v compared several different tappets to my stock ICS and the groves are qwite different that ride on the sector gears nub. That would cause tyhe double feed issue, but I'v seen the ICS has a fix for it on there web page. The spacers that go on the sector gear to change the open time in relation to the hop-up and how long it stays open or how little it opens,Cheers!
