At what distance you want to zero your scope..
using an SP160 spring.
My AEG is a TM Aug.. stock barrel... and I still want to use .25 Can I also ask for tips on zero-ing your scopes?

... you should put all of your questions in ONE thread!
as for zeroing your scope, figure out how far your gun can hit accurately and adjust it accordingly. most of my guns are zeroed for 50 feet, since they were stock and couldn't hit a head-sized target beyond that.

Adjust your hopup perfectly, pick a distance you are likely to need the scope at, compensate for parallax error, and sight into where most of the BBs go.

I zero mine at 30ft (length of my basement, I don't need special preparation to do it), then once in a while will take them to a storage hut I use, distance is 90ft and see how the zero is then, but mostly I tweak the hop up instead of zeroing.
30ft zeroing works fine for all my guns, even out to 150ft or so, then I just watch BB flightpath and compensate if I need to. |

Zero'ing should be based on effective range.
1- Adjust the hopup properly (you will need lots of room for that) 2- Estimate the effective range of the riffle in question, when the BB starts dropping or hooks either right or left. Keep in mind that if the BB flies upwards, your hopup is defenitly not set properly. 3- then you can zero the scope or RDS at this point. Best way to do this is either rested (AEG in a shooting bench) or prone. Some people think zero'ing AEG is overkill, but in a firefight it might make make the difference. I use 30 rounders, so I prefer to spend the time and make certain the zero is near perfect. Also, zero shoudl be set by the shooter since the shooting position and eye relief is different fo each individual. Hope this helps.

my groupings are very bad.. even on only 10 meters... should I buy a tight barrel? or new hard hop-up buckings?

I know a guy that has a specially tuned AEG that can even come close to that kind of FPS. At 10m, his bbs were making a single hole in his paper target. He is using a tightbore and heavier bbs but for sure, a tightbore will help in any gun to have better groupings.

I'll say it again in the hopes you realize what is wrong; your primary spring is FAR TOO STRONG for the gun.
Parts will fail, accuracy will suffer, it will cost you tons of cash to fix all the time. It will NEVER do what you want because airsoft guns are not made to shoot like a .22lr real gun. Why dont you simply put a milder spring in there? An accurate gun at 380fps if far better than a gun that cant group at 10 feet, breaks all the time, but has lots of FPS. You will be happyer hitting your targets at 380fps than miss all the time at 500fps and spend hours fixing your gun. Allright? That should cost you less than $30. Try it. If you dont, we will see you in the Doctor's Corner for months talking about what broke. |

Our events are held outdoors mainly, here in Quebec we use sandpits as well.
So open fields and/or wooded areas are used all the time. @ 400fps w/ .2 & a tightbore, will give you a very accurate weapon w/ .25 or heavier.

You should go learn to shoot instead of buying a bunch of stuff.
