Importing Tracer unit
Hi, just wondering if you can import a TM Tracer-Unit from the us without it being snagged by the customs demon? I know it looks like a silencer but the package at least does not say its a silencer....to my knowledge anyway.

Importing anything, as said almost every day here, is a gamble.
Even things that should be OK are a gamble. So it all depends on if you feel like gambling your cash away and getting your name flagged by Customs, or prefer to order from a retailer. What has the worst permanent consequences for you? |

IIRC there's one in the Parts & Accessories sales forum right now for a reasonable price, you may want to look at that one.

This is sort of off-topic. How does the tracer unit work? I know what a tracer is, how does it work though?

I believe the tracer unit flashes a strobe when the tracer bb enters the silencer which gives it a burst of energy making it glow as it leaves the gun
a tracer mag already has a LED inside the mag so the tracer bb's are constantly lit and given energy so they are already glowing before they are fired |

The special and expensive BB glow in the dark if light hits them before hand.
The magazine or the 'silencer' tube has lights inside. The BBs are exposed to the light along the way and glow. It's one of those accessories that is not really useful unless you play a lot at night. The cost and use value is a decision to consider. |

I was reading about the magazine tracer units both the store bought kind and plans on making them, as i said before I'm not really looking for one, mainly because as greylocks said the BB's are more expensive and the unit is not really practical for me as i play few night games....I did however see one in use at the Montreal game that I attended. It was mounted on an ICS M4 along with a third-gen night-vision rifle scope and looked awesome. The owner said it was as if he was cheating. I say all is fair in love&war and I like war more anyways....Does anyone have or has anyone tried one of the tracer magazines?
