Buying Lower Quality AEGs online - in Canada?
Hello everyone.
I am a relative newcomer to the sport of airsoft, and I am very interested. Looking at the whole importing of airsoft guns into Canada, I am... enraged... by the whole situation, and what it does to novice players like myself with a lack of funds neccessary to buy a quality airsoft gun in Canada. Me and my friends are looking for some lower-quality AEG's to buy, and after looking at some websites, I have found something that could satisfy us for a few months. http://www.speedytoys.com/shop/item....id=303&catid=9 Yes, I know, it is cheap, and probably... pathetic... by many people's standards, but we have to get into it somehow, and we don't have the neccessary finances to purchase a 350$ AEG at the moment. My question is this -- does anyone know of a website based in CANADA that has affordable guns similar to this one? I have tried many sports stores around my area, but all I can seem to find is likewise quality weapons for prices upwards of 100$. Hardly... thrifty, no? I have searched extensively, and I cannot find anything within my current price range. Eventually, with some careful book keeping, we will all be toting high quality AEGs, and we may even see one of you on the field. Until then, we are just attempting to get into it, and have some fun. Thank you for your time, -Spartan PS: If anyone is looking for a... flame war... here, please avoid this thread. Do not post comments akin to 'Go play soft air in your backyard!' or 'THE POLICE WILL GET YOU, NOOB' because my father owns a sizable, private property outside of city limits where it is permissable for us to play. We are responsible youth, and we promise we will never tarnish the sport of airsoft for anyone. Thanks again. |

save.
Do you honestly want something that will only last a couple of months, even WITH careful handling? Save up, and get a Tokyo Marui G36c (if that's the look you're after) . |

I thank you for your response, kos.
Well, it is hard to save, with me being a full-time student. Right now, I honestly AM after something that will only last a few months. Just to get into it. I don't want to buy an expensive gun, then get bored or be unable to continue the hobby because of some other unforseen circumstances centering around life. -Spartan |

It's strongly recommended never to buy low quality equipment. If you need to ask why, please check the Doctor's Corner.
More important for you, no matter what your maturity level is, go through the age-verification process or respect the options that go along with it. Where best to play, and what to do, is covered in the Information section. Just read that stuff. |

Dont buy crap, really. It will break 5 minutes into your 1st or second game... and then you will be sad.

CDN Tire and Wal Mart for all your soft air need....
If you can't afford airsoft, then it probably means it's not a sport for you. You can always come back when your financial situation improves. That's what I did, I wanted to get into airsoft when I was 17/18, but I wasn't rich enough to blow that much money on the nice stuff. So I just waited until I got some extra money saved up before jumping in the scene. |

May I suggest going to a game and renting guns, if they are available.

Nice you have a field to play on, but you should read the section about importing into Canada. Like some of the other guys mentioned, Canadian Tire or Walmart has what you need. But if you're looking for some other stuff checkout http://www.dlairgun.com they have some soft-air for you to try out. You're a full-time student as in college, university? I am as well and I'm managing to blow over $1000 on my guns, equipment, etc. that's maybe cause I don't spend oodles of $$ on food everyday, believe me it adds up :P

With those guns that shoot 200 FPS with .12 BBs, you might not get the same effect or sensation when firing a higher quality AEG. This might turn you off to the sport but who knows.
