I don't know if it is true, but I think someone should invite Mr. Harper to an Airsoft game...

Nah, treat him nicely, show him how the game works and why we enjoy it. Show him the responsible community side of things and the self-policing. Mind you, this is only a last ditch effort and shouldn't be used till nothing else will work because it could just as easily backfire.

don't get it....

there is nothing illegal about airsoft, or playing with replica firearms in the context of military simulation or skirmishing... this is not the issue.

The issue is simply the trade in replica Firearms...
Airsoft weapons are not illegal... owning them is not illegal.

Selling them without a license to trade in prohibited devices is...

Mostly the law turns a blind eye to it.. as mostly it happens between responsible people who have no nefarious designs on the use of the replicas.. For example they intend to use them to play at designated safe play areas.. between adults who consent to be shot with them.

And so there is little or no enforcement of the "no transfer between individuals" parts of the Criminal Code that apply to replicas.

With the closure of so many of the leading western Canada suppliers... is there a change in the enforcment wind? Who knows... this could just be part of the checks and balances that the police and customs apply now and again to keep a lid on excessive proliferation of replicas.

I actually thought about this, after I heard him referred to as a "warmonger" during the Isreal/Hezzbolla shit during the summer, I thought about sending him a team Warmonger name tape and making him an honourary member of the team. Of course I didn't do it, but I made a couple jokes about him being linked to our team by the media and critics/opposition.
