XM8 Airsoft

I searched for guns today and i saw this gun, http://www.armysurpluskelowna.com/specials.html (look at the XM8)
Wanted to know if that would be good or cheap (wich is what i think) the things i love is that it comes with all the stuff (mask, Battery) So help me choose on this for a beginner gun if that is worth. :-D

get age verified, then talk to Swatt13 about the XM8, from the looks of that package doesn't look good. $199.99 for that is throwing your money away.

Read the sign again, it says translucent smoke as the color of the gun...... this should be enough to give you an idea.

Quite simply, you get what you pay for. If a package is $199 it will be crap. Expect to pay upwards of $600 for a good gun. Do a little research.

even if thats a special... i hate that. If for real its worth 500-600 before the special then thats another story but thats suck if it was worth 250-300. Ill research

Actually I had one of those for just plinking... it hasn't broken yet and is'nt bad as far as performance goes (though my AUG still kicks it's ass). Me and my friends sometimes use it as a backup gun for when we don't have enough guns for all the players (I.E. when somone new comes about.) It can hold it's own in a fight against TMs... but barely. The clear smoke color doesn't help either.

In short, as a farting around gun it's ok. As a starter kit gun... well depends and what level of players your up against. Me and my friends started out in airsoft when we first turned 18 with worse guns than that... and though we havn't been to any major ASC events yet we still have some expierince with different guns. We discovered the hard way you get what you pay for, and this is no different.

"Starter kits" are a sham and misconception at best. There's no "cheap starter kits", and getting some Piece of Shit gun cuz it's your first is about as smart as buying a cheap rundown shack because it's your first house.

If anything, get a GOOD gun as your first gun, because you don't have the experience to fix and maintain it the way someone with experience fixing/modifying guns could.

Save your money and get something good, don't waste it on junk. You'll only look back and regret you hadn't waited.

dont waste your time. sure it will do the trick and are suprisingly ok (a guy has one down here), the cheap clear plastic, breaks easy... dont drop your gun, dont fall on your gun, dont hit a tree, dont play in the cold, dont get shot in the gun... said enough? your going to be dissapointed. its really really gard to MAKE a good xm8. g&g had ready made ones that were good (tm internals) your best bet is to get one of them or buy the gws kit and a g36 which you could prolly do for about $600. thats the only way to do the xm8. i like mine, its cool and does a good job, but if your going to cheap out your going to be so dissapointed and not enjoy the sport. i bought kg3's b&e and ya its a piece of shit compared to my other two (g&g, gws/tm) nothing but problems, although it has tm mechbox.

so do the g&g or gws/tm... if you dont want to, get the ak, i havent figured out why in my own experiences but theyre popular for a reason.
