Looking for good Sniper Ammo.....
I am upgrading to a 469mm x 6.03mm prometheus tighbore with systema 120MS spring.
I will be mostly using .25 gram bb as general purpose ammo. I would also like about 1000, 1500 rounds of "sniper grade" ammo to fill one clip per battle for those situations where pinpoint single shot sentry/sniper duty is required. Just wondering what kinds of ammo you have found to work well with 6.03 promo' tightbores at the 400FPS (.2 gram) level. thanks

Either the Maruzen Super Grand Master 0.29g or the TM Superior 0.30g ammo. Both are the best of the best for consistancy, although pricy. Estimate $25-30 per box of 500. Considering it's sniper ammo, the cost is well absorbed due to the accurate and consistant nature of it. I'm still chipping away at the box I opened about 6 months ago, still have about 3/4 left and I use my sniper rifles a lot.

Keep in mind that you will have to waste precious time resetting your hopup as the trajectory of your rounds will be altered considerably.
Consider perhaps, if you have a reticuled scope, to (of course) zero your scope where your .25's will impact at a given range, then again where they will be when using the heavier wieght ammo. |

Add to Kokanee's suggestion, use the lowest setting on your scope and visually track the BB's flight, and compensate for any elevation/windage that is required to get that BB on target. Lots of people that I've seen whine it's too "paintball" to do so (lobbing for extra range), but in airsoft only the smart ones compensate for range. Don't be too worried if you find 0.30g drop after 150ft, all you gotta do is aim a bit higher and try again.

To be honest with you, turning a CA M15 CQB into a sniper gun to do dual purpose as a sniper and full auto skirmishable gun is a waste of time and money.
If you want a dedicated sniper weapon, get one. Keep the CA for when you want a full-auto assault gun. Last weekend should have taught you that your weapon in most instances really doesn't matter. Your tactics and aggression (ie. willingness to enter into a hostile situation) are FAR more important. Your gun shoots at least 30-40 FPS more than mine, yet I took you out when you had superior position and firepower. Add to this the difficulties involved in resetting your hop-up, as Kokanee has said, the wear and tear semi-auto will do to your mechbox, the expense you'll go through to get what you think you want, only to have to change things many times to get it just right. Buy yourself an SPR or an M14 and do the appropriate changes, or get an M700 or M24 or APS if you really want a sniper role. I've had sniper rifles and a 450 FPS+ SPR, and they really did little more for me than I could do with a stock Marui. Tactics and fieldcraft are 99% of the job.
