TM P226 - Slide doesn't lock when mag is empty

A brand new TM P226 and my first GBB. It shoots fine but the slide does not lock when the mag is empty. I could continue to fire blank until the gas runs out. Then the slide would lock in place when there is low gas. I am running on propane but I don't think it makes a difference since I tried with green gas also.

Anybody had the same problem or know the solution to this? Sorry if this has been asked before but I was unable to find anything related to this.

Actually green gas=propane. Same thing only Green gas has lube premixed.

Have you tried on Duster or 134a out of curiosity.

Do you only have the one mag or do you have others to try and see if its the mag.

Now are you completely filling the mag with gas? if you don't have enough gas in the mag you may not get a strong enough blowback to engage the slide lock.

What about the slide. When you rack the slide back manually does it lock in place then?

What about the movement of the slide itself. does is move freely? If not maybe it needs a bit of lube or something is gummy it up from sliding all the way back smoothly.

No, I haven't tried duster or 134a yet as I don't have the duster adapter. I am now in the process of getting another mag to see if it is a mag problem. The mag is full during my trials.

As for the slide movement itself, it does move freely and it locks when pulled and it does seem like it is moving all the way back since the kickback is quite hard.

Thank you for your suggestions though :salute: I will get another mag or two and a duster adapter just in case. In the meantime, I guess I'll just keep track of how many shots I made.

Check the corners of the slide lock notch on the slide to see if they're not rounded out or worn down. It's a fairly common thing to happen to plastic slides running on propane/green gas.
