Do real steel handguards fit airsoft?

Hello.

Basicly what title says.

If yes are there any modifications required or do they pop in just like airsoft ones?

Thanks!

Handguards for what? Some do, some don't, some require moding.

If you could narrow it down to a gun model, the answer would be more accurate.

Right now; Yes, Maybe, Depends, Perhaps. Do you have tools?

Right sorry about that.

I am to assume most armalite seriers (TM, CA, ICS, G&G etc..) handguards would be interchangeable correct?

So I was wondering if the real handguards for an M4 or M16/C7 would also fit that series of airsoft AEG's?

You would be incorrect. There are many different variations on handguard size, shape and fit characteristics in the airsoft world. Handguards from a G&P will not fit on a Marui or ICS, but might fit a G&G if you work it a bit. Handguards from a CA wouldn't fit any gun I tried.

I have a real steel heatshield from an M203 on my Systema M16A3 and it's a perfect fit. Not all guns are like that.

real steel do not fit a TM m16a2 without mod, the barrel collar behind the iron sights fits the TM handgaurds differently. A little bit of dremel work and the real steel fit dandy though, just need to get rid of a bit of excess crap on the real steel in order to do it.

And that's why the G36 is so great! CA, STAR and TM parts all fit each other, as do real steel! :-D

Sorry...just some shameless gloating...

Real steel A1 style handguards fit with a mod, or if you have the G&P M16 VN front end, fit without any work at all.

I wonder if someone would care to write up an FAQ concerning what r/s parts fit on airsoft armalites and what doesn't.

Grey?

Generally speaking ,real steel handgaurds can drop in on most current CA, GP and G&G Armalites if i'm not mistaken. They will not drop in on ICS or TM AEGs, as unlike the other manufactueres, they did not copy the mounting collar.
