m733 RIS issue

I just picked up a RIS for my m733 and i love it except when you install it, you screw the threaded nut over the delata ring to secure the outer barrel over the inner barrel, then you put on a ring or something over the threaded nut. ANyways this has a spring between it and a lip on the threaded nut, so when you actually close the RI over the barrel, you pull back on the ring with the spring towards the recievers, slip on the RIS, and let go, i guess the tension in the spring keeps it all together. THe spring is alright, but if i tug back on my tactical grip, it pulls back on the spring, i can just see my RIS falling apart on the field because of this annoynace, as well as causing a racket if i move around to much, all i need is something to put between the ring, and the recievers. Electrical Tape wont do the trick, Any Suggestions? I thought os zip cord or a spacer, but i cant find anything, also, there is a little metal tube at the top of the recivers, i think all m4's have it, can i dremmel it off or is that used for anything?
