MGC MP5 K

Hey everybody, I have been reading the ASC forums for years and now I finally registered. I have a MGC MP5k coming in in a couple of weeks...now I don't own any hfc134a, but I do have a propane adaptor (which I may have to replace...the tip/probe looks messed up). I was wondering if I would at least be able to use propane to test the gun out. Its too vintage for me to take to a game, however I want to give her a test run, and decide whether she was worth the money or if I should put her up for sale . Also... I am a bit of a newb on this one, but If its not propane or greengas safe, what would I have to do to make it propane safe? I know i probably will have better luck winning the lottery than finding parts to put in this gun but I figured it would be worth a shot.

Thanks in advance,

Shadow

I think there isn't enough experience with MGC on this forum. I don't think there are too many airsofters who'd know about the compatibility of MGC and propane.

Propane chilled to 10C exerts similarish pressure to HFC134a at 20C.

Propane in MGC weapons = Bad. Go on ASC Armoury and get yourself an AI duster adaptor, then go buy some duster with tetraflourithine(sp) and away you go.

Go to a game and ask for advice there, or go to the classicairsoft site and ask them, because we;re not classicairsoft experts here...

Hmm, I currently own a MGC P7M13, I can tell you that it's probably not a good idea to use propane on it. MGC stuff is pretty classic now. Your best bet is just to stick with dustergas. Generally all the mechanics in MGC guns are different and aren't like modern gas guns, shoving propane in there to go through all that could really screw with the internals, probably not instantly noticable like in a GBB if your slide flies off. It would definitely decrease the lifespan of your MP5K quicker though probably.

Just wondering, how many mags did you get, and what's the capacity?

Just one Mag, and it's 50 rounds. I was planning on selling it... I love mp5k's but i dont have enuogh to shell out for a TM AEG one , nevermind highcaps for it.

You couldn't afford a TM MP5K, but you were able to afford a MGC MP5K? How does that work? MGC stuff isn't very common now it it's quite easy for it to cost over the regular price of a modern AEG. I know I had to dish out quite a bit for my P7M13, quite a bit more than a brand TM GBB.

Hehehe, well i got a decent deal on it... and I got it in hopes that it would be worth more than I paid for it and I could get myself a decent aeg or gbb. I know this is venturing off topic and i will probably be thrased by the mods and or admin for it but how much do you figure it is worth?

http://www.gunsnguys.com/home_ns.htm usually I'd go here to check for prices, I actually got my P7M13 from here, your MGC MP5K isn't on there though, it's a good site if you ever check for other classic guns.

However, it is here: http://endoshoji.com/classic/page013.html
(note that my P7M13 is on there too, except they have the lightweight version, boo)
So it says it's $155 USD, and $60 shipping, so about $215 USD, then account in for the fees to import it and stuff, then you'll have a price.

I don't have the liscence to import... and those guys are in Japan so it probably wouldnt make it through customs. I paid more than 215 for it (after shipping).

EDIT: I just realized this would come across looking like I am foolish enough to risk money on something that would definatly be seized at customs and destroyed. My item is already In Canada, I was just saying that if i tried to that is what would happen .
