UTG Shotgun problem

I just recently recieved a brand-new UTG 870 shotgun. However, after only 15 shots (or so) the gun jammed. Although it didn't jam in the traditional sense. There are no BBs in the chamber, but the trigger is not functioning right. It feels very stiff and won't release the sping. Any ideas on what's wrong/how to fix it?

Ya...the safety is definitely off. Cocked it about 5000 times already in different ways. Banging doesn't work either.

It's an old adage, but it still rings true:

"You get what you pay for."

Seriously, you bought one of the cheapest guns on the market. What did you think was going to happen?

The UTG is based primarily on the Maruzen CA870. It has an overly-complex linked-bar trigger system. If you look around on this site, you can probably find links to pics that show how the trigger assembly goes together. My bet is that you trigger has fallen out of linkage.

I am curious, where did you buy the shotgun?

Not too many forum members have taken apart a UTG shotty. You're going to have to take it apart to see what's wrong. Did you get a manual with an exploded view diagram with it? It'd help if you scanned and posted it to help those unfamiliar with the UTG to help you.

I'm guessing something is either blocking the trigger so it can't release the sear (perhaps a loose bb inside blocking it?) or something important has broken and jammed.

It's a whole $35 US. I get a feeling you are not 18 either because that's the type of gun the kids want when they refuse to accept that crap is crap.

Solution; buy another one (it will also break) or save your cash to buy something that has some quality after you've gone through the age-verification process.

Brilliant suggestions. Truly. Cant wait for the next ones.

Tell you what, there are many US forums who would truly appreciate your expertise. Try them? Please?

Ok...first off...didn't get the 870 in Canada. I live a life of risk. My third middle name is Peepants. My fourth is Danger. I got it from the US. My methods are my own. As to posting the manual: I would do it, if I had a scanner. And just to appease Greylocks, I'll have you know I am saving up for a CA g36.

Didn't canadianairsoft use to stock it a long time ago?

So in plain englisgh you smuggled a cheap peice of crap across the border.

BRAVO TO YOU!

Now what have you gotten out of it? It broke on you.

BTW, Try a US or UK airsoft forum, they seem to have thousands of people on them that buy this sort of cheap shit, perhaps they may be able to help you.

have you tried an unjamming rod down the barrel???the utg does come apart, but is a bit tricky.after removing the rail assembly it looks identical to the maruzin 870 shotgun but it is far lacking in quality of the 870 name.one allen bolt on the back of the gun (providing it's the pistol grip type)and a variety of body screws will have to be removed then the pump handle has one tiny screw and it slides off.the pump slide itself just screws off and after you get it all apart you will realize the heavy feel to it is just well placed lead weight.once this is all done you should be ready to split the two halves,,,,careful when you do this and remember where things are so you can put it back together,,,,oh and goodluck.

Beach_Boy has gone through two of these and they are not worth the effort to fix. Canadianairsoft.ca was selling them but I think they had one to many come back. Daes has ripped one appart so give him a PM and see what his suggested fix was. Note he said there were over 30 screws and they were all different from each other...less work to take appart an AEG.

I'm with Skruface...you get what you pay for. They have a great feal with that giant metal cylander in the cocking tube but they are cheap plastic through and through.

Hey! I fixed it! I got tired of messing with it so I threw it against the wall. And voila! The spring mystically was released. The trigger mechanism seems fine and it shoots as well as before, although I must say that it is a bit harder to pull. But I can always use a good finger work out. But at any rate, thanks for your caustic remarks and somewhat good advice. Until I modify my CA, chao.
