Butane in my GBB

Ok so all of my clips were out of propane and my brother decides to fill them up with Butane!! like what an idiot. He says when he pulled the trigger it shot went into a wall but as soon as he shot all the butane leaked out fast... Umm does that ruin my clip at all?

Ok I don't know if my clips is screwed up yet but it just happened. All three of my clips for my glock were out of propane so my brother decided to fill them up for some reason with Butain. I know eh very stupid of him. Well he told me what he did and when he shot it as soon as he pressed the trigger all of it was released and the clip turned cold he said. Is the clip ruined or is it still good?

Please refrain from saying clip, instead, say "mag" : D

did you try to refill the mags afterward?
what is likely to happen is that the o-rings have frozen up, or in the worst case senerio is that the o-rings are damaged or unseated as the gas vented. wait till the mag is warmed up (can check the mags the next day) and try to fill it with propane. the leak will likely occur at the valve or between the pieces near it, that is if there is a leak.

You may have damaged your seals. Have you tried filling it with propane and seeing if it functions properly?

First off you are going to get flamed for calling Magazines aka Mags, clips. Just a heads up.

Butane has a lower pressure than propane (this could have been found out by searching), so your mags should be fine, unless there was a pre-existing problem.

lol my bad, thanks for correcting me. As the guy said above... will the seals on my mag be ruined? I sure hope not, cause it was a high mag clip he did it to :lol:

If there is a leak in my mag will it be a slow leak or will I be able to hear it?

you may also want to check the contents of the butane, because there are certain additives that can dry out the seals in your magazines. If it says petro-**** stear clear.

Yes you have.. Maybe before asking the question you should go try the magazine out, and see if it works.

It's absolutley fine.

Just fill it with duster or propane and a few drops of silicone oil and everything will work as it should.

PS - Your brother is stupid and perhaps should be restricted from access your airsoft gun (ie. locked case)

EDIT: I would recommened the locked case, regardless of you having a stupid brother, a smart brother, or no brother.

dunk it in water and watch for the bubbles

butane is not good for gbbs
reacts with the rubber bits

I dont know how come you have a GBB at 16, but I'll leave that one be for now.
Go find some pure silicone oil. Put a drop on every seal, valve and hole of your magazines. That wont harm them at all.
Then hit your brother with a shovel.
