KJW P14.45 Problem

I have a FM kjw p14 and it hasn't been blowing back when it fires. It fires no problem, but the slide doesn't cycle at all. Occassionally it will go from no blowback, to a good kick, then no blow back again. I'm not quite sure where to start looking for problems cause I don't know much about airsoft, but if somebody could point me in the general direction I might be able to figure it out...or give me a really easy solution, but what are the odds for that.

I had this exact same problem with mine. Turns out the hammer spring was too weak. You can try putting a BB inside the spring housing and then put the spring on top, that might help. It's an odd problem, you get a gas powered springer almost...

If you don't know how to open the main spring housing then just PM me and i'll walk you through it.

We had about two of them who had that type of problem, turns out the magazine catch had worn down and the mag was sitting about a smidgen too low and the hammer was just glancing off of the valve, when they pressed up on the magazine it fired normally.

Here's a guide to dissasembling 1911 guns. It works, even if it isn't real steel. Watch out for step number 9, the part that presses on the safety will shoot out if you aren't careful.

Hey I got a simple answer . Is the main spring housing inside the checkered piece (thats held in with a pin to the receiver) at the lower back of the grip that connects with the hammer?

Yup. That's the one. Spring is inside held in by a cup. And be careful with that piece too, it's really under tension... I lost the cup piece doing that

Ok I put the bb in the spring housing, but I'm getting the same problem. I doubt I'd be able to put more in there, I'm not sure. Any other ideas? :???:

Edit:

Ok I actually fit two bb's in there...still no dice. It's definately the hammer, because if I give it a good kick with my thumb, I get a full blow back. Any other ideas?

Huh.. Odd..

Is the hammer still swinging at a good strength? Because at this point I'm running out of clues.

It was noticebly stiffer, not by alot...but enough to notice. The only idea I have right now is somehow come up with a attachment to the hammer, just to extend the surface, so it gets better contact with the pin. But maybe I'm just speaking crazy.

check the firing pin out, see if it's deformed or anything. To remove it, press down on the pin, pull the little plate up and then be prepared for the pin to come flying out (yes.. more spring loaded parts on this goddamned gun)

If it's too short that could explain some things, but otherwise I'm still stumped.

When Mine does this it's becasue the o-ring on the back of the loading nozzle isn't sealing propperly. I tried using just silicon oil but it wasn't doing the job so I got this 100% silicone goo and coat the o-ring in that and everything is happy again. You could also try replacing the o-ring with a new one
