TM M3 wont rack, pump jammed
Took apart my M3 shorty to get the shell door off (also lost the spring from the pump lock so now it will pump when already loaded, not something I wanted to be able to do but does let me fire more than 3 BB's) and now when I reassemble it, it doesnt rack, its as solid as a rock, no rattle, not even a little loose, the pump handle is just completly frozen in place. When it is in pieces, the rods on the side that attach to the handle that pumps it do move but when its reassembled its frozen.
I've tried lubing everything and making sure nothing is too tight, but I've taken it apart and reassembled it 3 times now each time checking for problems and nothing. |

Been awhile since I dealt with Apoc's M3, not sure the problem with yours (lost spring doesn't help). Best thing I can suggest is keep digging through it for the meantime.

It's hard to say with that description. Without seeing the M3, it's kind of vague. Have you shown it to any local airsmiths/shotgun gurus?
I can recall at least once that I've reassembled my M3 and had a similar problem, I had just reconnected something wrong, but I don't recall exactly what... Have you checked to make sure the tab for the trigger assembly is tucked into the end of the pump rod and not stuck behind it? There is a groove on the inside of one of the rods, into which the dark grey plastic tab that comes from the trigger assembly immediately forward of the white plastic tab that pushes the piston back fits. It's easy to accidentally put the rod back in in front of this piece instead of over it, if that makes any sense. I also have some extra pump locks (with springs) for sale if you're interested.

One stupid little spring loaded tab locked the whole thing up...
Pumps now, but one of the BB's drops out when I tilt it down, one of the lower barrels, may have hit (read: chipped) something on the inside...tell me it isnt the tri nozzle! Doesnt always come all the way back to the front when pumped and as a result the trigger doesnt do anything, any idea what causes this? Really annoying as it means it doesnt fire everytime its pumped which means it isnt that useful on the field. Thanks |

BB falling out sounds like hop up for that barrel is fuc't. Hop up bucking holds the BB in place in airsoft guns. Apoc's worked for a few months after I fixed his tri-nozzle, then screwed up again, fixed it again then later found out that the BBs ALL rolled out the barrel when cocked. Been a wall hanger (as well as 20 other guns) since.

Having second thoughts about becoming an airsoft shotgunner, REALLY wanting my G3 back from home...
Though I do have an idea for a reliable (though hard to make) semi auto shotgun that ejects the casings like the maruzen ones do, have to scratch build it all myself though so I will most likely pass. Wonder if I can sell this shotty for anything, help with my "buy SystemA full mechbox for my G3 fund," wait till someone comes out with a more reliable easier to maintain shotgun for airsoft... Guess we'll see how the toxic snatch game goes for me, may end up running around with my GBB the whole time |

If you sell it, many folks buy the long stock from the full sized M3 to put on a M3 Shorty. Spare parts may also be needed.
Sorry to tell you this, but the M3 is a gun that should never be opened up. It's not designed that way. It works wonderfully as is and is extremely reliable right from the box. If you rack it too hard, things can break. With certain care, they last for years. |

I'm sorry to hear that it's not working now.
Greylocks is very, very correct that the M3 shouldn't be opened up. It works great and is very reliable, but if it's pumped too fast or opened up by someone who doesn't have an absolutely clear idea of what needs to be done to get it back together, it tends to die. If you do decide to sell it, it will probably be well enough recieved. If you want to sell it as a butcher job most of the parts will probably go fine, but you'd probably be best off selling the whole "spring box" (like a gearbox but without gears) together (heck, I'd probably be interested in taking it off your hands). The external parts are just like Gray said. You can always get someone who knows the thing well to take a look at it's internals. If you've opened up the "spring box" there's a pretty good chance you just got the trigger mechanism back in wrong, which is insanely easy to do since it all fits together wierdly when it's in right. There's still always a chance that it's not broken, but just jammed up inside... well except for the one barrel that has a BB rolling out.

Kinda works, just has the pump-jams-4-out-of-5-times-thing, have a game on the 15th that I will try to use it for, after that I will be back home (with my G3 ) and will no longer need it, will most likely sell it as is (got 8 shells for it too). Even if I only get $150 for all of it (tri nozzle intact) that still only comes out to $25/game, less than some gun rental costs, so not that bad.
Thanks all for advice and help, never again will I ever open anything but a GBB or possibly an AEG. |

To be clear, it's not totally impossible to futz around with the insides of an M3, but man... it gives a new meaning to Royal Pain in the Ass.

Whoops, that "jams-4-out-of-5-times" should have read 1 out of 5 times, made my problem seem a lot worse than it is, tee hee :smack:
