hey there,
i once had a problem with shimming my gearbox and this forum solved my problem really quick. again, i am from israel, so here i dont have too much info to get, anyway my gearbox was broken during using my gun... see the picture to see what happend anyway i am looking for a cheap gearbox to order... i know how to assamble the gearbox and evrything i just need a good gearbox to buy+ a cheap one but still i want it to be strong enought to hold a m120 spring (i want to upgrade my old spring m100). thank you ! |

That broke with a 100m spring?
That's not good... If you do want durability though, you should really consider getting a silent piston head to go along with it. Looks like too much spray and pray.... So how's Isreal? |

what do you mean you think i over "oiled" it?
if so i did put a lot of greez on the piston sides. and israel's fine :-) thanks for asking. anyway got an idea where to buy a stronger gearbox? (but still with 6 mm bushings?) |

This would likely be caused by exessive pressure from the piston hitting too hard - or too much if you like to shoot alot on full auto. Sorry I can't really help at all on that one... though, it would help if we knew your price range? Preferably in an estimate of CND or USD. Anyone with opinions, remember that he isn't in Canada, things will be cheaper.... likely. |

well lets just say i need to include the shipping to israel in the price
if i get something really strong i would like to buy the gearbox in something like 40$ at max + 15$ shipping = 55$... and i want to buy m120 too.. now i am a little bit afraid.. and yea i shoot about 15000-20000 shoots with this gun.. and still my gearbox in great shape (in the inside) |

Are the ICS mp5 mechboxes compatible with TM ver.2 boxes? if so couldn't you just grab any reinforced Ver.2 box and swap it as Ver.2 boxes aren't that hard to find?

The M120 is a very strong spring, that would explain part of your problem. The stronger the spring is, the more problems you will have. You should learn to adjust the hopup system instead.
To get new parts, contact any of the International Retailers that will ship to you. Do not buy a cheap mechbox just to save money. It will break again. |

i've seen G&P reinforced gearbox v.2 for 33$...
sounds good for me but the gearbox looks a bit diffrent from my gearbox my weapon is the v.3.5 mp5.. witch means airsoft elite made some small changes in it.. my gearbox doesnt have the small window where the spring guide should be. besides that could the gearbox be diffrent and could not mech mine? cause as much as i know the ics parts needs to be identical to the TM's.. |

Any Version 2 mechbox should work for your MP5. The mechboxes with small windows where the spring guide is are for M16/M4 guns, which also use version 2 mechboxes. The windows allow for the one pin take-down function for Armalites. MP5s don't have the one pin take-down feature so their mechboxes don't come with windows. But the mechboxes with windows will still work in your gun; it's just that the windows will serve no purpose in your MP5. So don't let the windows stop you from buying them. Any version 2 mechbox will do.
You can check out the small drop down list of international retailers at the top of this webpage to look for a mechbox if you can't fine one cheap locally. As long as your government allows you to import airsoft accessories, it should get through fine. |

a mechbox doesn't look anything like a gun so I wouldn't see a problem unless isreal doesn't allow the imoprt of things with motors and gears you shoudl be fine. uncompany had quite a vest selection of mechboxes last time i checked
