Hi-Cap Mags not feeding bb's to gun

I may be called an idiot for this thread, but untill now i've only used lo- cap mags in my aeg, and i've tried using a hi-cap for once, but the bbs won't fire out of the gun even though the bbs are loaded to the top of the feed on the mag. am i not winding it far enough? or am i winding it too far? i don't know, but if i hold the gun upside down the bbs will essentially gravity feed into the gun and fire (so i know the mag isn't sticky)

1) Open the BB feed port of the mag, and fill it.
2) Wind the mechanism until it starts to 'skip'. It's an obvious difference.
3) Insert in gun, shoot.
4) every so often, wind it up a bit to keep tension.

If you loaded the mag with a loading tube through the top hole like you do with low-caps, it wont work.

i did all of that, but no matter how long i wind it up, there is no real change, perhaps its broken/defective?

Try to fire your gun upside down, maybe there is a problem with the mechanism and it won't push bb's out of the mag. Also, try to lube internals of hi-cap.

For some reason it still sounds like your doing something wrong. (I know I could not figure out how to use my highcaps until way after I got them)

1)Make sure the mag is 100% wound up,
2)Insert it into the gun,
3)Pull the trigger (Fire about 40 rounds)
4)Rewind the mag until it clicks again (while it is still in the gun)
5)Fire off another 40 or so rounds
6)Repeat back to step 4 until the mag is emptyed.

i've done the upside down firing, the bbs flow as they should upright, i think i just don't know when to stop winding the hi-cap oh and the mag never actually "clicks"

How many BBs are you putting into the reservoir? You need at least 40 or so before any start flowing.

For a hicap to work, you really should fill it completely. So if it's supposed to contain 300, put that into it through the feeding port.
If you tried to force then down through the 'hole' on top the same way you load Low-caps, you may have broken something.
Winding also takes a LONG TIME, sometimes a few minutes.
If you still have trouble, go to a game and ask for help.

yea, i know how to properly feed and wind the hi-caps (in theory), but i'll get it al wound up, and it'll push one or two bb's out and then you hear the spring unwind, and then no more bb's get pushed through

oh and i don't think anyone has or will ever fill a hi-cap the same way one fills a lo-cap, because its kind of obvious how to properly fill the damned things

What brand and model of mag would that be?
The unwinding part sounds oddly common... you may just have to get midcaps if this model of mag is common to this.

Personally, I'm saying the hell with high caps right now... my G&P midcaps are in the mail.

lol i suppose i should simply stick with an extreme amount of lo-caps (better for realiam anyway)

Well extreme is relative.

I only have 10 lowcaps and that puts me at the 300 round field limit (for the LZ in Ottawa). Yes it's a bit more expensive, but if you get a good deal you can get your mags for say $30 instead of $55.

If you think nobody will ever try to fill a hicap with a loading rod, I have news for you. Never underestimate what folks can do, because I've seen it happen.
If your hicap unwinds completely after a few shots, there's probably something broken or jammed in it.
If you've never wound it until the mechanism starts to skip, then do it.

If it still does not work, take it to a game, ask anyone who has experience to look at it. There's only so much help anyone can give online without seeing the problem.

lol yep, i think i've got the hi-cap running (i took it apart and fiddled with the main spring bit) i still prefer the realism a lo-cap offers, well thanks for all the help!!
