Anti-reversal issues
Hey so I just recently took about the gearbox on my G&g predator to replace the internals. When I reassemble the gear box the shafts of the Anti-reversal latch pinches against the gear beside it locking the internals up. Is this normal or have I installed it wrong. I never replaced the latch but I replaced the gears with lenox helix gears

anti-reversal is suppose to limit the direction of movement. It allows for all gears to go one way and not the other way around. use a screw driver to manually rotate the gears for testing

Did this already, if i put it together without the latch everything works fine. But if I put the latch in it squishes so tight I can't move the gears either way even with the spring and piston removed.

Make sure the anti-reversal latch is sitting against the Bevel Gear (the lowest one in the gearbox) and NOT the Spur grear (the largest, middle one).
When you put the bevel gear in you need to hold the latch “open” so that when you put in the bevel gear the spring tension closes the latch onto the smooth large notches on the bevel gear. If you are uncertain of if position, just google about pictures such as here: http://s144.photobucket.com/user/wol...ls009.jpg.html |

Have your redid the shimming on your gears?
99% of the time you can't just replace the gears, especially if you are changing the brand of the gears. The ARL can rub against the sector gear if your shims are improper. |

Are you saying that your bevel gear is shimmed so high the AR latch is engaging the pinion gears and not the AR latch notches? If so there's your problem?
Are you saying that you can't turn the gears because the AR latch is making it hard for the gears to spin? Are you sure that the spring isn't just giving resistance because the gears are pulling it back... And it's not spinning backwards as per the AR latch's function...? |

did you change the gear set? That is not a g&g gear set. If that's a completely different bevel gear it could be that it's bigger and will hit the factory ARL.

Like I said I replaced the original with lenox helix gears. And I measured the old one and new one are the same
