Post GK74, out of box with no upgrades whatsoever

I run a GK74 by G&G. My thoughts on it? Clunky, heavy, and hard to maneuver. But by god does it fire well.

I owned a VFC SCAR-L before, which was just as heavy, but the hardware problems on the GK74 dwarf the VFC's problems.

So far the only issues that I've had with the GK74 was the magazine being a little too big for the receiver. This was fixed by shaving off the sides of the mag with a file (mind you this was the hi-cap mag that came in the box). The other issue I've had was the battery/grip system.

Don't get me wrong, having the battery be the grip of the airsoft gun is not only a unique idea, but it's done in all the wrong ways. The batteries that came with the box didn't fit in the battery/grip insert. I had to file them off as well. I've only fielded the gun once and I've had many problems with the battery locking system just sliding off and popping out the battery. Mind you if you know how to use the tools in your garage all these problems are easily manageable.

How do you guys field your GK series AK's? What mods or upgrades have you done to make the GK a better gun overall?
