First Gun: Batteries/PEQ Questions for VFC XCR
Hey Guys,
I've played air soft a few times with my friends over the years and this is the first year that I've been able to give it a red hot go, so i went and read as much as i could on this forum over the past two days doing as much research as i could about air-soft and guns, I've already PM'd one of my local age verification reps to meet up for age verification so i can look for people to play with and actively join this community but my purpose of this post is more about what Batteries/PEQ to use with the gun i purchased the VFC XCR (Tan model). First of all my understand of PEQ's are extremely limited; to my knowledge it is basically a battery holder that is connected to the internals of the gun already and strapped to the outside of the gun (Stock most likely) that lets you insert batteries so you can change them out easier than say, opening up the stock of your gun and inserting a battery inside. The Predominant questions i had were mostly, what PEQ do i get for a gun like this (IF it actually works the way i think it does, and I want to make sure it mounts properly) and what batteries would you recommend going with that PEQ. Ideally i'm looking for some kind of package reccomendation As far as i can tell ideally i want to get something that takes LIPO and i'd really like something with a laser with it (unless that's not recommended). Please let me know what a few recommendations for PEQs/Battery Packs are for a gun like this, as well as what MAG's fit a gun like this as i would like to order a few spare. Cheers, Bram. |

A PEQ box is not a battery holder it is a light and laser combo that attached to your picattini rail (not stock). People who have front wired AEG's and don't want to run a standard m4 rail that contains the batteries will purchase a fake PEQ box that can then store a battery inside and still look "tactical"
You won't find a PEQ box battery combo unless someone is selling second hand. The only batteries that normally fit are 7.4v square lipos. |

Whats the best form of external battery storage, because opening and closing the gun all the time to put in/take out the battery seems like a lot of effort. My friend owned a g36 (i believe it was called) and it looked like a pain every time he wanted to put the battery in or take it out.
Whats best solution for a hot-swap option (if one exists) on a gun like this. |

How much sand CAN you fit in your vagina!?

For a front wired gun, just get a Magpul style or even standard carbine foregrip. They pop in and out easily, held in by the spring loaded delta ring.
I'd recommend rear wiring your gun though. Then batteries can easily go in your stock or tube.

And the second is how hard is it to change a front wired gun to a rear wired gun? |

Guy's he's got a XCR, I'm guessing the one w/ the skeleton stock, which means no chance of fitting a battery to the rear unless he swaps over to a buffer tube stock or fashions up a pouch of some sort for the battery.
Best bet is a FAKE PEQ battery box. Just google "PEQ battery box" and you'll get a ton of hits. Just get one that fits your battery, most battery either specify if they can fit a PEQ box or have measurements so you can figure out if it fits or not yourself. Its literally just a pretty looking enclosure to house your battery, so as long as it fits your battery and looks good to you, its fine. As for recommendations, someone who actually runs a front wired gun w/ a PEQ batt box can chime in there. Oh and generally no to lasers, you run the risk of damaging someone's eyesight, especially w/ the unregulated China stuff. They're also pretty pointless considering the range and accuracy of airsoft in general. The PEQ batt boxes w/ the laser/light probably also takes up more battery space so just get a plain peq box and you're good to go. Ignore the Magpul stuff, I think Ricochet was under the impression you had a M4 w/ a RIS/delta ring system. It won't fit your XCR seeing as its a completely different gun.

One option is if you use lipos, you can get the new Magpul vertical foregrips that can house an 11.1v lipo. There's a video on youtube somewhere, but I'm at work and youtube is banned, so can't get the link for you, sorry.

"Recommend to use 11.1V 1450mAh 15C PEQ-15 Type Lithium Rechargeable Battery For store into AN/PEQ-15 Type Battery Case " and thats from e-hobbyasia (Which calls my gun the XCR Mini and not the XCR) so i'm not sure how much i should trust the info. I ordered my gun from a Canadian site, but i have to wait for the manual to see what it recommends for a battery since i don't have the gun yet and i'm assuming it won't come with one. When i ordered the gun i made sure to ask alot of questions and the guy said that LIPO's were def an option on this gun. Again really new to the whole Airsoft scene so all help is wonderful thank you Edit: i should have realised their are many XCR guns, the FULL name of my gun is "VFC x Socom Gear Robinson Armament XCR Mini AEG (Tan)" Last edited by Bprokz; May 21st, 2015 at 12:45.. |

right also buy the right connector type...My guns are all wired to deans, so I usually buy deans batteries to save myself the trouble (i found cheap ones). just be aware of the connector type so you don't have to solder yourself, which is easy but you will be throwing extra money in there.. Thanks for all the help guys, this is exactly the information i needed, i guess i should probably wait for the gun to see the connector type, that was the last thing i forgot to ask about, but i guess i'll have to wait and see. Now i'm like a kid at end of November wondering when December 25th is going to roll around. Can't wait to get started.
How long should i wait for age verification rep to get back to me, should i reach out to more than 1 and when others get back they'll see i'm age verified? Hey guys, I've been looking into options for the battery storage, and storing the battery in the fore grip seems like the best choice, what's the largest tan/sand coloured foregrip that would fit a 20mm standard rail and fit a decent sized lipo for my gun? (ideally at least a 11.1 1300mah 15c lipo if possible) Last edited by Bprokz; May 21st, 2015 at 18:42.. Reason: ForeGrip |

For the verification, you can contact others as a backup plan, but generally they are volunteers, so they have priorities, also once done, it would take 2 to six weeks, or even longer if you made a thread asking about the length when there is many threads about it and did not do much research.
for storing battery in the grip, you should look at the pts direction, they are coming out with one that you can stick a battery in it, but don't quote me on the release date

Ah, I suppose you guys might have been talking about the PTS EPF, forgot about that one.
Good luck, PTS is notorious for delaying their releases... you'll be lucky if they release it this year lol. http://www.bunnyworkshop.com.hk/news...cal-foregrips/

I guess another option is getting a tango down forgrip, drill a hole in it and pass a wire through it
