Lonex Bevel still usable?

So I recently received a Lonex gearset from a buddy which said the bevel is toast. But under inspection it seems there is only a small chip on one of the teeth.
I realize it probably better to not use broken gears but it seems like it could work.
Simply curious as id probably just stick it into a loaner gun anyway

So my question is good or bad idea to use it?

Theoretically, it could work if you filed it flush. But I see there's still damage on the other teeth, which should be fixed up.
You should also make sure your bevel/pinion shimming is spot on.
In general, Lonex gearsets can't take much more than an M130 spring though. It'll work fine for a loaner.

I wouldn't take it out on a 12+ hour op though.

So maybe fill in the chip with some JB weld and file it down flush?
And yes Id make sure to get the shimming perfect, but in general it would be for a day skirmish loaner gun so not heavy usage at all.

No...... JB Weld is not meant to be load-bearing, much less impact-resistant.

Just file away any errant features.

Looks fine to me, shim and level the motor properly and you won't have any issues with the teeth engaging.
You can still use it for sure but of course keep an eye on it from time to time.

It's fine to use without any repairing. As long as you have your pinion engaging properly, the damage won't be an issue.
