Scope protector for 3-9 32mm

Just wondering how I protect my investment. I have the shield type, but I need to put a riser on it to reach the scope. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with protecting their scope, either with a kill flash or something like this.

Kill flash will dim the viewing image.

That shield should work. Out doors shots are farther out unlike CQB.

Now.. In terms of ordering… is the 32mm the number i need to order.

Ie., are they all standard fitting.

Also, the range may be closer than field, so I am wondering if that would have enough strength?

Measure the OD of your scope and ask the seller if it will fit it. Also if you value your scope, buy two. Shoot one as a test to see if it breaks.

I'm thinking I may by some lexan and mount in on the inside of the scope. It will not touch the scope. There is a small lip where it can rest on. I'll shoot some lexan. I have read some pages that have them shooting .28 at over 500 fps at point blank. I can't imagine that or worse where I play

I've used lexan on my scopes that don't have kill flashes that fit and it works great. Still can give away your position due to reflection though which is what kill flashes are for. I personally prefer a kill flash, it also prevents the sight from washing out due to sunlight.

So....this may sound dumb... but where exactly to I measure for a kill flash?

Is it threaded for a kill flash? Some aren't.

If it is then I've found that using the "32mm" is the best bet. Because the scope manufacturers market that measurement, the kill flash makers also market the same measurement.

For sunlight washout, the lens hood is the solution not a kill flash.

Mount the lens protector inside and the extension of the hood reduces the reflection.

A larger lens hood could also restrict field of view but really that's not the point. I've been using kill flashes on 3 or 4 scopes and it they work for both protecting the lens, sunlight washout and killing the reflection when playing outdoors. They aren't as great indoors but outdoors they are perfect!

I have 2 scopes with lexan covers that I cut and glued inside the lens hood of the scope and they not only wash out easily, they also reflect a lot. Great for indoors though.

Not possible. Use a proper sun shade.

I have a Hawke 8-32x56 on a rifle with the Hawke sun shade. The scope has a 13deg - 3deg FOV. For airsoft, the length of this shade prevents reflection unless you look into it directly and even then the internal baffles of the sun shade makes it very dark to look into from the outside.

I have only played outside. I have a red dot and a shield if I were to try inside.
It is threaded on the inside and has a 2 inch sunshade.

I have never used a kill flash, but some comments have been that it distorts your view. I love the crystal clear look I have now, but also want to keep it that way. There is the plastic covers that I thought I may move just a bit forward and place the lexan just in front. That way it is secure, and doesn't touch the glass inside.

I have never used a kill flash before and would have to see how it looks through the scope. I certainly don't want to get the wrong one.

From that description would you agree that I should be looking at 32 mm?

Thanks for the link. I viewed the link. Looked interesting, but there is no size for 32. Its 33 and for the ACOG. I don't know if I missed it or they just don't make one.
