G&G cm16 raider-L combo m4 thoughts?

Hey, I know my profile is not age verified but I am in the process of doing so and anyways I should not need to be age verified to get opinions on an aeg. I'm looking at the mentioned g&g cm16 raider-L combo m4 as a starter rifle. I was really hoping to get a full metal gun but also looking to keep the cost of the gun preferably around the $200 mark. I have researched this gun and it seems to be on the up and up and good quality however, I'm hoping to maybe get some feedback from first hand experiences? Or even just observations from seeing a friends or competitors rifle. Thanks for any advice/comments all thoughts are welcomed.

Great starter gun. Easily modded over time as well.

This may be an option as well. http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=164321

Out of the box it's good to go.

Using cars as a loose Metaphor
Systema is Formula 1
VFC is a nice Audi
G&G CM16 is an entry level Acura or a high end Honda

That's not neccecarily a correct metaphor... Systemas are not going to out perform anything just because of it's brand.

BUT

Yes the Cm16 raiders kick ass out of the box. They're built like tanks and are very reliable.
I run one as a backup gun, I added a high torque motor to improve trigger response, but besides that it's stock.

Nothing will outperform based on the brand. In the hands of a good player most any weapon can be very effective. Likewise a crumby player can have an amazing rifle and fair poorly with it.

If a player had good gun skill to start with and you gave them the choice of a stock Systema PTW or a stock CM16 I don't think it would be a stretch to see 99.9% of the folks on ASC reaching for the Sytema PTW.

Not saying just saying. BTW I don't even own a Systema PTW, I started with a CM16 and now use it as a backup to my VFC e series.

I have the CM-16 in black and have gamed i a few times. Currently have about 25k bb's through it between plinking and gaming.
Now I am also fairly new to airsoft but have no complaints about the gun other than you may notice a bit of mag well slop and possible feed issues with some generic plastic mags. I cured this with a 1/2 long piece of sticky backed fuzzy velcro on the inside of the the rear mag well.
Also I'd get a spare battery. Below is a video using mine.

Is there any full metal guns out there that would be recommendable for around the same price range? For instance I was also looking at a king arms m4 model for around the $250 mark

He's not AV'd yet but I agree that would be a better starting platform.

This tells me you can afford the KA M4A1.
I am a G@G Fan boy and I love the guns,(I own 3) But for a Stock gun, My KingArms M4A1 is a beast. The trigger pull is not as good as my G@Gs But Still a Very fun and Reliable gun.

If I were too Start Over, The KingArms would have been my First M4.
