Dispute with a fellow airsoft player.

About a month and some odd days ago, I sold my pistol to Iname. I was going up to college and I needed the cash, and I figured since I would not be playing until next spring anyway, that I should just liquidate my collection, and possibly rebuy when I need too.

So it is a month later, and now he is complaining that I ripped him off. He wants his money back, and wants to have me blacklisted. I feel that it is important to point out that Iname is an idiot. He is my friend, and I usually am not this blunt, but the situation is getting far out of control. Multiple times in the past he has bought either Canadian tire POS guns, or UHC gas guns. Even though he has been playing since the beginning of this spring, he has little knowlege of airsoft maintenince, or the ability to judge quality equiptment.

Now to the point of this thread. A month ago I sold him a KJW M9 with a plastic slide. I have had this gun for a year, and I'll be the first one to admit, it is not in the greatest condition.
Now Iname had been looking at this gun for some time, and I figured if he wanted it, it was all his. So during a small skirmish between me and him, we negotiated the terms of the deal, and he test fired the gun, and learned what was wrong with it.
**It will be noted here, he was fully aware of the condition of the gun when he bought it, and I didnt leave out any details**

So now it is a month later, and now Iname is complaining I sold him a shit gun. He brought it to a gun doctor- Sadiztix, and was told the gun would take $100+ to fix. He doesnt want to pay this, and wants his money back. (he actually has only paid me for slightly less then half the cost. he was short on cash, and since I was moving, i didnt mind taking an IOU).

Now he is threatening to try to have me blacklisted for selling him a gun that didnt work, on the basis that I took advantage of him because he didnt know better.

sorry for the length of the post, I needed to get all the details out before the flame war started. What are your opinions? Am I to blame for this?

If he already knew the condition, as you say, it is his fault. He knew of the condition of the product before he bought it, and still wanted to pursue with the deal, so it is his fault. Who knows what he could have done in that months time with it.

I would like to note that the sale to Iname in my ratings is for something else I sold him, not the pistol.

man don't worry about it some customers are like that believe me I've done retail...just be cool about it ya know ignore the sunofabitch i mean if you told him the gun had a prob then its his decision to buy it its not like you scammed him. That dude's an idiot. You did the right thing by informing him about the problems of the gun so you are no longer responsiable. If i accecpted returns because peopel like fucking up their PS2s then i would have been fired like 100000 times over...

Well. When situations like this arrise between my friends we usually settle it with violence. Punch your friend in the face and tell him he knew what he was buying. Then go out for some wings, beer and a few laughs with him. Drink enough beer that the argument will come up again. Then have a really good fight over stupid shit that you did to each other when you were younger. (Old debts, old girlfriends, whatever.) After your both bleeding pretty good, have a couple more drinks. Hit on women that are way out of your league, bitch about them 'shooting you down' to each other then go home and sleep it off.

I don't know if this actually solves any problems you might have...but hey...makes for an exciting evening.

I like the way you think ;-)
Unfortunatly Ilive 2 hours away now, so that isnt an option. Believe me this all could have been sorted out in 30 min of battlefield 1942 knifing.

call it a lesson learned. Don't sell project guns to damaged people.

It just leads to pain.

anyways, sounds like you're not really to "blame" per se. You're being blamed, but that doesn't make you responsible for anything more than actually agreeing to sell the gun to someone who would probably fuck it up and get mad.

I shrug at this dilemma. It feels great. Try it.

Absolutly, there is always 2 sides to a story. Unfortunatly they never match.

If something was wrong in the first week...fine, but a month? That's pushing it.

I know we don't often play multiple times a month, but I am always plinking and adjusting and could figure on finding a problem with the gun earlier than a month.

And I think it is common knowledge in this community, if you buy a gun used, regardless of what the seller has given you as a history of the gun, it's gonna be a risk.

Like fantastixs said i am an idiot that is undesputable but in this case the only things that are in question is the price it was sold for and weither it was right yes i bought a damaged gun i tried it out once then left it alone till i brought it to sadistix i am bringings it back next sunday for a full overhaul and then getting this mess straitened out.
But back to the price he sold it to me for 200 and the real value of the gun plus mag is mabe 100 to 120 because it is abs and it is only 89.99 new and it came with one mag that is only 25 bux so new it is 115 with everything. this gun was a project gun and had multiple things wrong with it and he was trying to sell it for way more then it was worth. And when this deal was agreed to i was saying that i was going to think about it but he told me that i had already agreed and that he had taken down the poat so i always keep my word and go through with a deal no matter what and this matter was brought up not buy me but buy sadisix he is one of the wac leader and had a valid point. well didn't get alot in this post but that is the bulk of it it is not me knowing the problems it is not fantastix selling it to me it is the price difference sorry for us waisting your valuable web space and time

With airsoft, you get what you pay for, I have boughten many, many guns from people and have been quite upset. but on all occations, I payed a price too good to be true and was expecting problems with them anyways even though the seller never told me. If you really want to get things resolved quickly, tell your friend to take you to small claims court (after he finds out it will cost the price to take you to court would be the same cost to fix the gun, he will back out)

I am curious how IName came up with the price of 89.99 for that gun. I have just checked the prices of KJ Works GBB's over at DEA, and they all run at 300 or more. Thus, IName, your estimate of 115.00 would seem to be a real low ball, even for a project gun.
