Socom Gear 1911 MEU
Hey guys,
I was curious if any of you had any background experience or feedback with the Socom Gear MEU. I've been our of airsoft for years and just recently started to gather info before getting back at it. From what I've read, the Socom Gear MEU is a WE meu with markings, a rail and comes with a few goodies (Lanyard, suppressor), but what really interests me is wether it's any good. I've had no experience with Socom Gear and don't know if it should be considered a good quality gun or not. If you have any experience or feedback, I'd gladly appreciate it if you would share. -Mag compatibility? -Parts availability/compatibility -Stock performance (consistency, accuracy) -Build quality (rattles? cheap parts that need replacing) |

Depends which Socom Gear MEU it is. There is one known as the Les Baer Socom Gear MEU or the Baer Custom MEU that are actually KJWorks. I have one, and really it is solid with just the typical 1911 problems, single stack mag so lower shot count till it runs out of propane, ambi safety being a little weak on the right side etc

Some socom gear are rebranded WEs and others are KJWs. I like the KJW ones, and like ts10 said, they are quite solid guns.
You can tell if a gun is a WE if it has a small circle on the left hand side of the trigger guard where it reaches the top frame. KJWs do not have that small mark. |

I've had a Soccom Gear Wilson Tactical 1911 for a few years now.
Always run well, with very good accuracy and gas consumption. It has the nicest trigger pull of any of my pistols. I am told the TM compatibility is not 100% and that mags may not swap either. The finish is really marked up both on the controls and the slide/frame. It's been banged around and rubbed on other metal objects when holstered. If you plan to upgrade start with TM. If you just want a 1911 that you can skirmish with and knock around and not shed tears over go with the Soccom Gear one.

Thanks for the answers guys, learned a few things!
This is the gun I was looking to get: http://www.milsig.ca/airsoft-guns-ga...ard-tan-p-3274 So according to Jordan, this should be a WE, and from what I read online it should be TM compatible for the most part. What do you guys think of the WE/SG MEU in this case? Or should I go with a P226. Being a part time airsoft/chairsofter, externals are as important to me as performance, but I'd like both and don't mind investing to get good performance. That being said, not sure I want to drop 400 on a TM gun then another 300 to make it full metal and 200$ to have it game-ready |

I'd like to pay around 300$, 400$ is pushing it unless it has some awesome feature or performance. |

From the pictures it's hard to tell, would you happen to have pictures of yours? Like I mentioned, being a chairsofter, looks and externals are "important" to me and I really like the looks of the MEU, i'd love to see more pictures of yours! Also, what kind of results are you getting out of yours? With your upgraded barrel and bucking, what's the accuracy like? |

The one at airsoftparts is the same one I have. Externally its nice, but not freaking awesome. Comes with the MEU grips and smaller 1911 grips. Very similar to the picture you posted, but black instead of tan, chrome barrel instead of black, no lanyard, and no threaded barrel.
Internally it is close to TM compatable. Many parts work, a few don't. Those ones are easy to get from KJW. TM mags, both the 1911 old school style and the MEU style(which the SG one you pictured isn't using) work, as well its able to take CO2 mags for colder days or those days you want to hit a little harder. Most 1911s can not take CO2 mags |
