Ics m16 front sight

May seem like a dumb question, but I cannot remove the front sights. Does anyone know if I even can on an Ics? When I look for the pins there not 'solid' so to speak, which makes it difficult to find a tool to punch them out. Is there some other methods of taking a front sight off?

Thanks.

A pin puch works perfectly.

With the right tools, it's a lot easier.

I removed the front sight from my bro's ICS M16, there shouldn't be any pins, just a grub screw on the bottom. All you need is the right size allen key

Do you happen to know what size I would need?

I have a whole set... usually I use either 1/16 or 3/32.

But double check, as stated, sometimes it's just a set screw or two under.

ICS made changes to theirs guns over the 15+ years they have been making them.

That is why some have 1 piece barrels, some 2 pieces (the best), some 3 pieces, some have metric threads on the receiver and some have SAE/RealSteel threads...

Good luck!

Yeh I looked for some set screws , only one is the triangle connecting to the part that holds the hand guard, I'm just wondering if it might just be a one piece, cause like I said the pins are not solid and just impossible to get at. Although there does look to be threading on the outside of the barrel. I'm just wondering if those pins are even ment to come out

Hi guys,
Sorry to bring this post back to life but I had another question which relates to my ics.

Basically I figured out I have a 2 piece outer barrel, got it apart and found out my freefloat rail don't fit. I'm thinking just getting a new lower and upper reciever ( as my stock also ripped off and left the upper gearbox showing) I now have to tape my battery to
My grip... My custom cqb m16 .. Not too perdy.

Anyways , I'm not sure if this question is a answerable, but
Does anyone know if I can fit a split gearbox into any other body's? I've seem a few for sale on asc here.

Thank you, and again sorry for necro

Edit : I should also add I remember it's an ics sport line ( polymer reciever, maybe 2010?)
