It not super new but it doesn't look like it was mentioned around here, so here goes:

I always liked the streamlined package of contour better than gopro. It doesn't look like a ridiculous box strapped to something.

The exact reason why I went from contour gps to contour pro 2, instead of jumping to gopro

Glad to see them back, as it means more software/firmware updates and support (and new products)

Ill second that. GoPro's are seriously expensive and look pretty obnoxious when on a helmet. When I see people run Contours on their helmets they look way less noticeable.

Glad to see them back.

ReplayXD, doesn't get more streamlined than that.

I haven't used my Roam in months. I dug it out yesterday, plugged it into USB and it won't charge.

Went through the troubleshooting steps but no dice. Battery light will go red if I press reset, then after some time will go green. Unplug or slide the switch and it's dead.

The electronics are accessible over USB when plugged in, so I think the battery pack is just not charging (different cables, different ports, etc).

Anyone here replaced the battery on a Roam?

I have several Contour, but when I heard Contour shutting down I started to look at GoPro but didn't like the big boxy shape.

I also call Replay in Calif and they could told me to go to a few auto and bike racing shops in Ontario to buy it. Replay said they are focused on racing, not paintball or airsoft, the rep told me. Called the Ontario dealers and they did not even stock them????

I think you are better off staying with Contour now that they are back again. I will be keeping my Contours now. They work fine, never let me down.

They have a pic of a CF guy with one of their cameras mounted on top of a C7.
Not sure how they can advert that then say they don't care about shooting sports.

Other than that I have no idea what else you are saying, there are plenty of spots online to buy if your trying to say you can't find them anywhere.

I will definitely be staying with contour though since I already have the mounts and I'm sure they will bring awesome new hardware to compete with gopro again, hopefully with better mics and white balance...

Well if any of you watch combat mission series none of the operators ran gopros. They all had contours. I'm sold on contours personally. I have had one for some time but sadly it didn't stand up to the rain and does not stop recording when I slide the switch back. I've been looking for a new one but now am going to hold out for a new product from contour.

I originally got my GoPro for when I go on vacations to do snorkeling, recording my airsoft games was just a 2ndary. Well I haven't gone anywhere for a number of years so I might look into a Contour whenever I manage to get my sorry ass back into airsofting too.
