Tippmann M4 Carbine Airsoft?
I ran into this youtube video today, seems like a decent airsoft gun tippmann is coming up with. I own two Tippmann Phenom paintball guns, really like their products' versatile designs.
What do you guys think: YouTube Link: M4 Carbine Airsoft Rifle - YouTube Here is the description I've found online: The new M4 Carbine brings full-auto--no batteries required performance and Tippmann’s legendary warranty and service into the airsoft market. Key features include the Tippmann proven inline bolt system, adaptable air system, performance adjustability and an authentic M4/AR style. The M4 Carbine features a realistic flip-top break down design like a true M4/AR. Its versatile air system uses either a 12g CO2 cartridge in the 80 round magazine, or the built-in remote line. It’s also compatible with airsoft’s standard magazines, from 30 to 300 rounds. The M4 Carbine has a metal receiver, and is compatible with many actual M4/AR components including a rear stock, front shroud and standard Picatinny Rail System. The M4 Carbine is adjustable to match each player’s needs and style of play. The rate of fire can range from semi-auto to 20 rounds per second full-auto, using an air assisted trigger design that does not require batteries. Velocity can be adjusted up to 400 feet per second and can be equipped with a velocity adjustment lock. The inner sleeved barrel is airsoft standard (aftermarket compatible) with adjustable hop up. An armorer’s wrench is included for barrel changes. Other features include Tippmann’s proven in-line bolt system with anti-jam technology, flip up front and rear sights and modular 8-sided Picatinny fore grip. Made in the U.S.A. and backed by Tippmann’s unrivaled 1 year full warranty the new M4 Carbine will retail for $399. Last edited by dreamkiller; February 24th, 2014 at 16:54.. |

I like the fact you can run remote-line through this and probably use compressed-air for more consistent performance, especially in colder weather.

Hmmmm, it must only be compatible with AEG mags when it's run via remote line looking at the setup.
Wouldn't discount it entirely, but yeah would have to see an in depth review on it to be sure. |

One thing about Tippmann is their customer service. They provide free replacement parts and tech service if you are unable to swap a part yourself.

It doesn't look like it has a functioning bolt which is kinda sad for a gas gun. But The idea of it with a bit more work could actually be feasible to compete with the other guns on the market.
What i don't get is the CO2 puncture when loaded. You're not only going to use 80 bbs for a game, so when you reload, does the 12g cartridge just go to waste?

So is that a gas hi-cap or is it one 12g CO2 on every mag change?
He says when you load the mag you pierce the caplet so when you remove the mag it's woosh. I think you'd still use the same original mag on a remote line.

Very interesting, the thing about tippmann is that they are extremely reliable and durable. Hopefully it will have some kind of recoil, which would make me overlook the lack of bolt assembly and seemingly lousy external finishing.
Lets hope this could become a budget daytona gun

It sounds like a cheaper version of a polar star using the parts of a Tippmann 98. Anybody who plays paintball will testify the reliability of a Tippmann marker. For those who are unfamiliar with Tippmann as a whole, they have a reputation of making reliable paintball markers. They're not the fancier one like what speedballers use, but they will work every time you pull the trigger. The co2 valve inside looks like they ripped it out of a TPX pistol, which has the ability to not puncture the capsule until you pull the trigger. It sounds like a good starter for a paintballer converting to airsoft. For one, they'll know they're getting a good quality gun because almost every paintballer has used a Tippmann 98 at least once in their life. Also, they won't be intimidated when it comes to maintenance because the internals are like a paintball marker. Overall, it looks ugly, but it has a lot of potential. Hopefully there'll be a lot of aftermarket support for it like their other models.

I think the CO2 cap is blown when you screw the base in.
and the brass piece at the top of the mag/magwell is infact a valve/port to transfer the CO2 to the gun. That would make a lot more sense than wasting CO2 all the time. |

No he says insertion to puncture while putting the mag in. Start watching at one minute.

Unless, the CO2 cartridge stays attached to the gun inside tha mag well after puncture, so your other mags will have just the hole for where it goes as opposed to you dumping your 12g can everytime
