GBBRs and Milsims....

Im planning on a few milsims this year and was wondering what you guys think of using a gbbr at them. Ive been watching a lot of milsim videos on YouTube and seems like most of the best operators are using AEGs ......
What do you guys use or think ?

GBBR WE G39 RAS, next season adding the Grenade launcher AG36 on it
It is for realism not for performance

Nothing like a field of dead enemies with the sweet sweet smell of propane lingering in the air...

From what I've seen in both regular skirmishes and full-blown milsims guys running AEGs tend to be "quantity over quality" types. Although this is never an absolute, guys running GBBRs are better shots because they have to pick their shots due to the significantly reduced ammo capacity vs an AEG-using player.

Even professional teams running PTWs and all that jazz carry upwards of 1000 rounds and put 7-8 rounds into each target. I've seen this both in CQB and outdoor milsims. Skirmishes tend not to be as violent (for lack of a better word).

Even if it puts you at a disadvantage the more realistic weapon manipulation and feel makes the experience so much better. Love it!

I generally use GBBR .. because it is more realistic, and often guns failures can be serviced in the field, I always carry an extra bolt,

That said.. temp must be above 10 degrees C for them to operate properly.. and you don't approach good gas efficiency till you are above 20 degrees.

I have top end PTWs, and AEGs.. but I always reach for a GBBR

Pretty sure the "best operators" use real guns.

As for airsofters... not sure what/who you consider to be "best" but it comes down to the year you saw the videos (3 years ago GBBRs weren't very reliable), local culture (in some places GBBRs aren't very popular and people prefer PTWs, in others PTWs are looked down upon and GBBRs are the shit) and weather... lots of the actual milsim teams (not GMR "milsim") are in Sweden/Norway with weather being fairly cool most of the year, AEGs are better year-round.

tl;dr: GBBRs, assuming weather is warm enough, will give you the best milsim experience.

I've been fielding my KJW M4 GBB-R as a primary for 4 years now, as previously said, you have to pick your shots, makes an extra challenge. Runs fine for temps above 0 degrees, since KJW has a large gas capacity in the mags

Although I won't argue against that since it IS true in many cases, most of my team consists of PTWs and most of us only load 40-60 rounds per mag, we only carry 8 mags, and we tend to pick our targets carefully.
In fact, if I find I'm performing TOO well at scrims I'll actually short load my mags even further to handicap myself.
There's no need to dump 8 rounds on target when the gun is accurate enough to do it in 1-3.
But I do support the idea that realcaps make a person a better shot!
You don't become more accurate unless you HAVE to, and you don't HAVE to be more accurate if you have a drum mag lol

I run both GBBRs and AEGs..

I have to say I enjoy using GBBRs more, and I'm switching over to them completely when I can.
I use real caps, and can only get 30 rounds in a mag. I find I have MUCH better performance when I'm using the GBBR.

Though, I will say, as of now my M14 will tank my M16 performance wise, but it just feels so much better having kick back, and knowing every shot has to count. It just feels right
