Rate of fire really low??

hi im new here.

I have a G&G GR16 R4 Commando air soft gun. It use to shoot at a fast rate of fire about 4 months ago. I haven't used it in 4 months but that shouldn't make is slow should it?

I have a 9.6V 1600mAh battery. I checked the voltage after it was charged and it was perfect. around 10v which is normal at first use.

That means my charger is charging correctly and my battery is fine. so why is my gun shooting so slow? its not extremely slow but noticeablely slower

Battery tired. Loose connection in the mini tamaya connector. Somewhere you are loosing voltage to the motor or the gearbox has gotten tighter to turn over

try someone else's battery?
Apart from the battery, there's no real reason a gun should pick up resistance after just being stored. Especially after just 4 months.

Ive tryed 2 other batteris all with the same result.

is there a short?
is the motor tention to tight?
is somthing internally broken?

im so confused.. it has correct voltage, smart charger charges correctly.

We cannot find the answer for you, nor can we hold your hand. You'll have to work out your memory and find what you changed since last time.

Why would there be a short since you stored it, unless you changed something in the meantime?
Why would the motor tension be any different than last time, unless you tinkered with it?
Something broken would not lead to a low rate of fire. It could be anything, and you'd feel the rifle being wrong, but not slow.

Okay well i loosed the tention on the motor just now and no change so i put it back to its original settings.

BUT, a month ago or so i put in a 6.03 inner barrel. do you think the hop up is too tight ? my bb shoot straight as far as i can tell. its dark right now so i could be incorrect.

but when i put in the barrel and tested it it shot perfect, still the same rate of fire when i put the barrel in.

The other thing is i lost the spring that goes on the top of your hop up to keep it hop-up unit back into the air nozzle connected to the gear cylinder.

and i just read in a forum that if you dont have that than you lose performance because its not airtight then.

What should i do?

Ok, slow down a moment. I though the problem was the slow rate of fire. Why are we talking about your compression system? Do you have a compression issue?

Try to figure one problem at a time, or you'll never figure it out.

What are your technical abilities with a gearbox?

rate of fire won't be affected by any compression parts
did you open the mechbox at any time?
incorrect shimming (like if one popped out and you put it back on the wrong gear) can absolutely cause lower rof and not be an audible problem if you don't know what to listen for

yes the problem is the rate fire. i just thought more compression means more rate of fire.

i have worked on gear boxes before. This is pretty much a new gun, only used it maby 10 times on the field. i have not shimmed the gears and have not opened the gear box on this gun ever.

only good motors are systema (if you insulate them), tienly, eagle force and chaoli
everything else is varying degrees of acceptable
so, acceptable lol
