Not really, I have heard good things about both. If its your first gun, you may want to consider sticking with some a little cheaper like a TM, but its all personal choice. What works for you, may not work for someone else.

You may also want to go to an actually game and see what guns people use.

I have modded my M4A1 into a C7A2, so you can do some neat things to your guns.

I usually trash these threads because I'm a real big mean prick, but I figured since I'm in a good mood I'll just place it here in the Airsoft Gun Discussion section.

Good luck with your decision.

actually you shouldve trashed it because the information given was false too. the ics and the g&g are very different internally. ics has the split mechbox design and the gun has olympic arms trades and a grey coloring. the mags are diffent too, the g&g comes with a thermold style mag.

TM guns work great, but platic and have barrel wobble
all verson 2 internals(not great)

G36 and AK47 guns run version 3 internals and are damm solid

Not to start an argument in the guys thread, but he is a noob and probably doesnt know much about mechboxs, he wants preformance, they are about even, why confuse the hell outta the guy.

g&g has first rate internals, whereas the ics has nearly identical internals to a tm (plastic spring guide, bushings, cylinder head, etc.) but super easy to upgrade. reliability on ics as good as tm (have both), but all g&g our team has (4 in total) have gone down (2 on motors and 2 on gears). top-notch internals do not always mean flawless reliability. the skill and experience in assembly means everything. ics and tm are 2 of biggest makers with many years experience between them. just some thoughts to help confuse you even more (sorry).

btw check out canadian airsoft in alberta. they are the biggest ics retailer in canada. best pricing too.

problematic ICS M4... meaning you may have to swap out a whole bunch of parts.

honestly you may or may not encounter problems with either of the guns.

Why? because you don't know if you'll get one working smoothly out of the box since it's your first gun. You don't know if it sounds unhealthy!~

Just pick one and buy it.

Just a word of caution, with all new players it is suggested by some in the community to try a Tokyo Marui AEG first for its reliability out of the box just to get you started.
This is to get you into the game without having to see your gun spending more time in the gun shop rather than the field. (unless thats what you want to do?)

Good luck on your choice.

G&P doesn't have the M16A3 model that he wants.

Buy Used

You can get anupgraded M16, full metal on this board, with upgraded bushings and spring (internals) for around $600.

I am looking for one now as my primary for the feild.

ADVANTAGE:
Gun is upgraded and probably shoot at a good rate

DIS-ADVANTAGE:
Gun has wear and tear, and you miss the fun (and learning experience) of doing your own upgrades
