Knowing when the pistol is empty?

Hello, I ran into a odd glitch. when firing my WE GBB glock 17 I fail to notice when the last round was used and the slide is locked, pretty much because what I see kinda stays the same (pic included) right side is in slide lock.

Any tips on that? Is it just a glock thing cause of the no external hammer?
Or maybe I should draw the pistol back into my chest area more often between shooting. I tend to keep it out with both arms extended.

thx

PS (its my first and only airsoft gun and ive nvr played a real match yet)

Shoot a bit more and you'll notice the difference.
Sound is different, weight distribution is different etc.

1, you can see it not travel forward
2, you can hear it not travel forward
3, you get a mushy trigger, when the slide if locked back

what do we do when our gun doesnt shoot? ID the chamber, ( works on GBB most of the time) and you'd know your empty

try being more aware of your pistol and how to use it and what not. this is a user related error, there is no "glitch" the fualt is no ones but your own

Pesto is right. I've noticed with my pistol and my aeg. The last shoot always sounds different.

But this is a GBBP, slide should lock back when empty, and it has quite a sound when it does so...at least my 1911 and 92F do.

You certainly will, and yes this is correct.

The training effect is maximized by getting shot.. up close.. when you don't notice you are empty.. Pain = Wrong, is an effective teacher

are you only looking at the pistol with one eye? because its kind of REALLY critical to keep both eyes open

You should be able to feel the last shot, too. Once you feel that slide kick and lock back, you should be looking to eject that magazine and replacing it with a new one ASAP. I'm a 1911/Tokarev user and never have been a fan of glocks, but i'd imagine there would be quite the amount of weight displacement with a glock slide locked back.

My pistol does not lock back on the last shot with all the mags I have. 2 out of 4 do. But the sound the gun makes when you shoot nothing but air is very noticeable. If you have a lower capacity magazine you can also try keeping count of your shots, not easy to do in a high stress situation, but can be learned.

I had a little bit of a problem with this visually as well. Like a lot of other things, you need to rely on feel as much as you do your eyes. The more you experience slide lock, the more you'll learn how it feels.

You can practice this sometime by either filling up your mag with very few BBs (but keep it random), or by using your thumb to push the slide release up. When you push the slide release up, it will hold the slide in place, even if there's BBs in the mag. You can alternate firing a shot and letting the slide go back into battery, and then fire a second shot and have it lock back, so you can compare the feelings.
