There's no such thing as a beginner sniper. It's much more advisable for you to get an electric gun instead. If you want to be a marksman, get something with a long barrel, it will shoot just as far as the Ctac will. Stock sniper rifles have no more range than an electric gun, but are severely limited due to the fact that you can only shoot one BB every few seconds.

- Tokyo Marui VSR system (avoid clones)
- Maruzen APS-2 system (avoid clones) - Classic Army M24 system (avoid clones) Any sniper rifle system will need heavy upgrading to match or out perform your average assault weapon. If you do not do this upgrading, they will suffer from lack of accuracy, lack of distance, lack of functionality, or all of the above. Tokyo Marui VSR system is easily the best in my opinion. It is slightly more expensive than the others, but has been around forever, and has an absolute host of high end upgrade parts. When it is appropriately upgraded to functional, it will be quite an expensive project, but utterly worth it. The Maruzen APS-2 system is more rare to come by, and doesn't quite have the solid amount of upgrade parts the VSR system has, but is known as a very reliable platform. Lastly you have the Classic Army M25. It's the cheapest of the three platforms, and the easiest to obtain, but will still need upgrading and maintenance by someone who knows what they are doing. Any of these will be a huge investment of time and/or money to be playable. You'll also likely need a scope with good eye relief, an appropriate loadout, and a lot of patience as snipers in airsoft don't often rack up kills but rather serve as recon, over watch, and/or support. Usually this takes a metric butt-load of experience. If you manage to obtain all of that, then hopefully you also have the natural talent to use a sniper platform, as they can be fickle and frusterating when dealing with wind and distance. Your gun will also need to be quiet, because if you miss, and miss you shall, your targets will search for you, and make shooting them difficult. 99.9999999% of airsofters that go this route 100% regret it, and end up selling their sniper rifles for a massive loss, if not getting discouraged and quitting airsoft altogether. I hope this helps.

If that thing only cost a hundred bucks and you had an extra thousand bucks in your pocket to get it working just right it would be a good deal.
If either of those dots don't connect for you then just walk away.

@ OP: Remember that "C-TAC" is not an actual brand, they just re-brand cheap chinese guns to sell to new players who are ignorant about the sport. Take the advice above and invest in one of the platforms mentioned; or ideally get an M4 and learn to play the sport first before branching out into sniping.

All this hate on for sniping for beginners. I started with a BASR (CA M24 upgraded) and have been fielding that for 2 years and loving it! In my opinion as a new airsoft player it has helped me be a better player. Ensuring to make sure shots count.
However, as mentioned above you need to upgrade the heck out of the gun to be considered an advantage. I have now picked up an M4 to play with to see that side of the world and give me options when playing different types of games or fields. |

depends on the local demographic.
If your local players are mostly casual players, don't focus on getting better, then sniping is just fine. If your local players are; the freaks, skunkworx, black devils, ronin49, people who otherwise play aggressively and know how to counter snipers, then you're gonna have a bad time lol |

My field is FULL of guys who know what they are doing. Trust me. That being said, its a field for fun as well.
I am in no way saying there are not moments I get my ass handed to me lol but its a blast. Back to the OP. Don't buy that piece of shit you linked too |

You are actually better off with an M4 and use it as a DMR and if you want to join the action, then it is still an M4.
Both BA and M4 shoot 6mm bbs, and the M4 will probably shoot perfectly out of the box. The cost to get the BA shooting good will shock you as you start to upgrade it. |

Actually that's a good point, used to be they cost the same as an AEG to upgrade (internally), these days, due to AEG's being so cheap and everyone using lonex parts, BA's are probably $300-$400 more to upgrade internally.

Approximate:
- $300 - $800 rifle - $250 trigger grouping - $200 cylinder set - $100 tight bore - $50 barrel spacers - $25 heavy weight rounds - $20 upgrade spring - $20 specialized bucking - $100 extra mags - $100 scope - $75 hop-up chamber - $50 shipping - $ tax - $ etc ^ That's fairly modest for a top tier sniper rifle, that'll compete with a PTW. Plus there is constant care and maintenance.
