Emerson Tactical Mini Video Action Camcorder

Saw this and was curious to know if it's any decent. It's less money than a Contour, and I don't really like the look of the GoPro (even though i know it's good, I don't like have a big square on top of my head) so I was wondering if anyone had this and could shed some light about its video quality, battery life while recording, ease of use, problems, etc.

Thanks.

Contour is out of business.

Get the Replay either the 720 or 1080HD. The Contour although very popular for airsoft, has quite a bit of pincushion with its 170deg FOV, the replay is much nicer at 130deg.

The Replay doesn't have the extra rectangular part like a Contour, so it is like a flashlight and mounts easily to your rail.

I want to see how they handle low light, indoor, dynamic light, sound and file compression.

Contour did this pretty well, I'm sceptical about this one.

Th market for action/sports DVR's has literally thousands of different models, but GoPro and Contour are the most notable names. The cameras linked to are just Chinese made and re-branded (also painted). Better models are available if you know where to look, for the same price, such as here:

A thing to keep in mind though, it's not because a cam records "HD" in either 720p or 1080p that it's any good;

I have seen plenty of those Chinese/Cheap HD cameras to say that most of them are real crap; Like anything, you pay for what you get. I wouldn't hold my breath for Emerson and the like. Maybe I'm off the track though but I'd say try to find reviews and sample footage made by real users before committing.

In "replacement" of the Contour, the Drift Ghost looks veeeery nice; Think GoPro 3 Black in a Contour-like form factor; Has a Shoulder mount which would make it great for Airsoft I reckon. Only drawback is the price and the (probable) lack of picatiny/ARC rails mounts

Edit: Looks like the price has lowered, down to 300$ from I think 4-450$ last time I saw it

I don't use my GoPro, too bulky looking on the gun or helmet.

I have since switch to Replay. Looks like a flashlight and mounts tighter against the gun or helmet. It is a proven cam although not popular yet in airsoft, but is in all other sports.

Some airsoft footages with the Replay XD, very natural and not pincustioned like a Contour.
