Almost ready to play, just a bit more info needed.

Ok so I live in Guelph, I am fairly close to being able to play this sport. I have a few questions though before I show up to a game with all my gear.

1) The first thing, how do I get my gun Cronoed? I will be playing at Flag Raiders. Can I just show up with them, I have 4 and ask them to do it for me?

2)All my guns are stock, what are the chances I have to change something inside them in order to make them playable on field or CQB? I have a KWA MP7, Lucid LG3, G&P M4 Navy Seal and a WE p226. And if something needs to be changed, where do you usually go to get this done?

3) Boots, what are decent boots to get? Almost all games I read about say you should have a decent pair of boots to avoid injury. I know of a place out in BC that sells boots, and they seem to have nice tan tactical ones for about 100 dollars. They have a zipper down the side. Would those do?

I just looked at Dr Jimmy's post for an airsoft game on the 20th of this month, he said that a barrel plug needs to be purchased, I am guessing that this is a safety item and that it goes in the end so a BB does not get accidentally discharged.

1) All hosts will chrono your gun before a game. You can also buy one for yourself.

2)It really depends on the fields limits. They will likely be ok for the large field games that run 400~420 FPS limits, but they will likely need to have a spring swap for use in CQB @ 350 FPS. Any gun doc can do a spring swap for you, its a cheap and very quick operation.

3) Any boots that you find comfortable and have good ankle support will do.

Barrel plugs do not work for airsoft, they are not make in the right size. You will need to get a barrel condom. They can be found at any paintball shop. They are an over caution for people who don't know how to follow safety rules.

Like so;

Us noobs should try and get a group by going for Chronos.

If that's even a thing suppliers would do.

1) You can buy a chrono or usually the places you play airsoft, they will chrono your gun before hand.

CQB fields are typically under 350 FPS, where as outdoor is 370-400 FPS.

2) I don't know about the other guns, but you can do a quick google search and add FPS to the end of it. I think your KWA MP7 shoots fine for outdoor 350fps+, not for CQB, your WE P226 should shoot fine for indoor I recall around (280-330 fps).

- You can buy a "NPAS" system for your KWA MP7 which allows you to adjust the FPS, or something called a "Dangerwerx valve" which should bring you down to 300-330.

- Barrel plug/cover should be $5+tax, probably buy them locally. They are just to prevent a bb from flying out of your barrel into someone's face.

the stock bolt on the kwa mp7 will shoot 400 on a COLD day, if it's sunny and warm it will be over 400fps. I measured on a 25C day the mp7 was shooting 460fps in the sun.

The low power bolt assembly was shooting 365 in the same conditions.

well most places want AEG 400 and under and snipers like 450 or under, unless your indoor then obviously its lower

I found a crono:
UFC Pro Chronograph

a pinto might get you from point a to b as well as a honda. One of them won't catch on fire.

Moral of the story:
Not all chronos are created equal.

Stick with Cortech or Madbull chronographs if you're gonna buy one. There may be a couple other decent brands but those are both common and reliable.

I have read in most newb and even game posts that footwear is very important. Looking at something like these. Should these offer the support your think? They go for about 100 bucks.

I sell the UFC ones, they're a nice little unit. Seem to be accurate and have useful features.
